I disagree with fellow knowable and prompt too, dremel staff. I believe with a touch of DYI ness for you heavy hobbiest the cordless 12v ion 1.5ah (what the 3300? Or 3800? Whtever. Will fit perfectly inside this dremel made plunge rounter system. As a dremel lover for the past 20yrs I believed I've owned all your newest innovative product lines. From the mini mite cordless to the dremel micro lathe, dremel table saw, first hanging and flex pencil foredom like motors to a host of other side line creatations Tht have past thro with time. But in there own right, and majorly overlooked in today's market (professional speaking as a artist) the table saw 01 and 02 even the wards lathe was ahead of its time. Ppl where into hp and Psi when these products came into light. And to this day I still own both a mint table saw, mint flex shaft and motor w/ foot controlled speed, pen micro wood lathe and chisel set and every dremel rotary since they broke throw with VS units! I to this day use many dremel made parts and biproducts one being Tht of the EZ 4200 black edition (newest just EZ style chuck made dremel only without adding it as aftermarket). And yes in a 1/8th" too at Tht. The wheels have only gotten better and sanding and buffing more refine! Sure ok I'm not inlaying a $600 tradition handmade turbo green/blue curl abalone shell and grade A middle Eastern black pearl oster Tht looks nothing close to black! Reds and soft blues n greys! Even if i reamped the chuck to take in a custom 1/4" cullet or Jacobs style pinned chuck. It's too light, with battery and all. And power 30,000rpms? Sounds heavy right. But it's hp and Amps over how many turns a motor spins in a mins time. A PC 7819 only runs peak without load at 21000 rpm but I can shape a hard maple front door and window pane with that with one pass in a shaper. And it's dremel I thank whole heartedly for that lesson in tooling and in my come too profession and art medium today. Why I couldn't get Tht new table saw with 100 tooth blade or 24 tooth carbide tipped blade to cut more the 7/8" thick of American cherry wood. A 5/4 medium semi hardwood! Tht first drill press dremel made was barebones simple but set the standard in which all rotary and now ISO tools are made upon. 3D printers to $900 custom square shafted 1/3hp 5,000rpm vs t.tx foredom motor and 1/4" cullet n handpiece. The dremel work station is a new school gem Tht isn't being replicated elsewhere to my knowledge or I'd have it over metal micro R8 mill and lathe setup of repeaters. Sometimes it's takes tool knowledge and ok braking a warranty or two to come up with the tool you so need for whtever your needs are. But fair and far warning just because it works and will work, doesn't at all mean it will work for your desired application or pipe dreams of inlaying mini ant colonies as painted up n dressed north vs south solders "ants" inlayed in AZ desert ironwood! If shaping a raised panel, does the tool/attachment stay stationary and I'd have to move the piece of wood? Does the tool/attachment need to be clamped down?

Answer:
Hi CatLady, to get the best cut and consistent cut or design, the tool should be stationary.
Check out the Dremel shaper and router table model 231. This is a great way to mount the Dremel tool and have it be stationary.

Answer:
Yes, this will work with the dremel rotary tools. It's a plunge router guide, so it's of course better for that and wont work with circular cutting bits because the drill will have to be on it's side.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Plunge router is terrible!!!! I was excited to buy and try the plunge router accessory for my Dremel. As I started to set it up, directions weren't very good. Had A LOT of trouble attaching it to my Dremel. Finally got it to work, somewhat, but didn't stabilize well or cut very evenly. Very disappointed! Now I can't remove the router attachment from the hand piece!! Which renders my Dremel useless! Very frustrating and certainly not worth the money or hassle. Love my Dremel otherwise, although I can't use it with the router base attached!!!!!!!!!!! March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High quality Dremel tools and accessories have always been high quality. This tool is the same. February 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Handy when a small tool is needed. Router base with easily assembled. It was missing some of the small hex/square nuts it should have come with. The spindle lock was somewhat inconvenient to use when changing bits. Found it easier to use a nail head to depress the lock. Tightening the collet nut with the standard collet wrench was challenging as I could only 1/2 way around before hitting the posts the router slid up and down on. Ended up using one of my wrenches. Over all worked well with light cuts. July 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor design While it solves the problem of stabilizing the dremel tool it doesnt plunge very deep requiring the cutter bit to be mounted with little shaft in the collet. The return springs impede the depth of plunge. The depth scale provided is a) not calibrated to the plunge and b) mounted on the wrong side of the tool. Im thinking of removing the springs. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Compact but versital I wanted a small compact plunge router to cut keyhole openings in narrow picture frames that I am making and this unit provided me with everything I needed. It's size is perfect for use on smaller projects. I would highly recommend the 335-01 November 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for small projects and detail work. Perfect combination/attachment, tool for the 3000 Dremel March 3, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not for precise work It's fine for general routing but if you need very specific depths or paths it's not for you. The depth setup system is mostly guesswork and the springs for the plunge are jerky. The plunge lock slips a little unless you lock down VERY tight which is annoying. Also there are no precise center line markings on the base which makes it very difficult to find where the center of the bit is going to be traveling - I had to mark my own with a sharpie. Again fine for general hobby work but I wish I had taken the $30 and put towards a real router instead of trying to make my Dremel something it's not. September 4, 2009
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK for the money. This accessory is very lightweight, not nearly as well made as the Dremel tool itself. It allows the tool to flex when you push it harder than it's (the plunge router base) designed for. I wish they would make it heavier duty, even if they had to double or triple the cost! This one is a good value, especially at the price my local store had on it - $21, approximately 1/3 off normal. Upon reflection, I think the plunge base that Stewart-McDonald, the guitar repair outfit, sells. It is mostly metal construction, while the Dremel brand unit is virtually all plastic. OK performance, great value. November 16, 2011
