the video shows the saw easily cutting through laminate flooring, but do not believe what you see. I bought this to cut some laminate flooring that the previous homeowner installed to close to a wall. used the "wood" blade - all it did was smoke, so i tried just setting the blade depth to just score the surface and make several passes - still just smoked like crazy and cut terribly. It went back in the box and there it will remain. I'd return it if I could...

I bought this saw to remove some 3/4 hardwood flooring. The saw does an ok job but bogs down real easy when cutting larger material. The saw also runs hot with minimal cutting.

The Dremel Saw-Max fits a narrow niche in the tool box; and has almost no common brand competitor. It is by far the best solution for small, tight area cut-offs. I was a little surprised that the wood blade grinds, rather than cuts, the kerf; but it works fine. This tool with the metal blade was the only method I had to cut down a metal-clad exterior door. Very clean cut, but got hot enough to burn the wood beneath. No variable speed, which is probably intentional to avoid hang starts, but hold it securely. Very rugged, surprisingly heavy. Plunge depth limited to 7/8".

saw doesn't cut well, and gets extremely hot very quickly. Too hot to hold in about 30 seconds when cutting wood.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Erik Great little tool.
It's a fast cutting little machine! Deceptively heavy for its size. Easy to control depth stop, reasonably quiet operation. Only drawback I have found is that it makes a HUGE mess when cutting drywall. Not the tools fault, but a device with an attached vacuum would be better suited for that kind of work.

Good little saw. Ii does get really hot though. Great for cutting into tight spots. I bought this to replace my Rigid Job Max that was stolen and while it does cut through plywood quicker, it does have its limits.

Got talked into putting up mosaic tile as a kitchen back splash and of course when I hit the first outlet to contend with I started thinking the mosaic was a bad idea. Then I saw this tool online and thought it might work to make the straight line cuts without having to remove each piece from the backing. Went to the local Home Depot to check it out. The salesman actually tried to talk me out of it, but my frustration level was high so went ahead and got it. Man am I glad I got it. Made the work much easier, in most cases not having to take the individual little pieces off the grid. Tool cut well (got the diamond blade with it). Occasionally had to augment with a diamond bit in my little cordless Ryobi Router. For me a great buy.
