I've seen a lot of bad reviews about this, which surprised me because it's been a great tool for my wood burning projects. The ONLY issue I've ever had is that occasionally the bits will twist out, but that's to be expected if I'm twisting the dremel around. A pair of pliers allows me to twist it back in without unplugging and waiting for it to cool down--and I've never had a bit break in the tool. Sadly, after four years of use it's stopped heating up, but they were a good four years--hope to replace it with the same or better :)

I've had the Dremel tool for less than a month, purchased it from a small Mom and Pop craft store. After a few times of use, it started to loose its thread, there by making it very hard to swap bits. I then had a bit break off into the tool, and its in so deep I can't get it out. Stinks because I was enjoying the tool.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BillK Really nice wood burner
I did wood burning when I was a kid and my mom got me interested in starting again. So I looked at Amazon and Home Depot's web sites to see which had the best deal for a decent wood burner. After reading the reviews I settled on the Dremel. It was the same price as Amazon but I could ship it free to the store so it won out. I've burned some logo's and a picture into small pieces of wood and it works great. The wood burner I had when I was a kid only had one tip so the option of changing the tips out gives you the ability to do some better detail. About the only thing that I didn't like was that the small tip bent a little and I believe it wasn't meant for wood and it did bend back so I'm understanding of it. Overall a great burner for someone new to wood burning.

This is a multi tool that also works as a pyrographer (woodburning tool), not a professional pyrographer. It does not have a thermostat control neiher the thin incandescent wire pointer. Anyway, it is a great tool for home use and beginners like me, it comes with 4 pointers you can use for different shapes and purposes. Also it is cool to be able to solder metal pieces with it.

The woodburning tool is easy to use and there was no assembly required. Changing tips is easy, too. Definitely a good product that performs well, and is affordable

I have never used a woodburning tool or etcher like this before, so I was a little nervous. It was very easy to figure out and use well. I had fun and would definitely recommend it. The only thing that I was a bit stuck on: the 5 tips in the package are not labeled, so I just had to use them all on scrap wood to see what kind of line each made. The instructions were pretty vague and basic, so I just had to go for it and figure it out myself.

I just bought this and brought it home. Opened the package to and reviewed the instructions but they dont tell you how to use it. I get that you plug it in, but no information about how long it takes to heat up, how to change the tips, or which tip is which. For a beginner these instructions are useless.

Gave this to my grandson as early Christmas present. The first time he used it the tip broke as we were taking it off so the post of the tip is now stuck in the hand tool. The metal on the tips is so soft it will not hold up with the heat. The dremel is useless now.
