CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Sharpener Simple to use, read/follow the instructions and you will never have to suffer dull drill bits again. I really like this tool. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Camper A little time consuming, but absolutely well worth the investment. I paid for my drill sharpener with my first use after sharpening all my dull drill bits. I would recommend the 500X any any novice or professional tradesman. January 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good but not Great This Drill Doctor does the job it is intend to do, the process is not as user friendly as I would have hope for. Having to rotate the drill to be sharpened, as many as 20 times is not very convenient and too time consuming. I would have preferred a sharpener where as the user would insert the drill and the sharpener would completely sharpen the drill without any further involvement by the user. However, I still would recommend this model since no other is available. December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Drill Doctor, Tax Calculation Lacking The Drill Doctor is a good solid product that I use often. I ordered it through Home Depot and paid through my credit card. When I got the CC statement I noticed there was a difference of $2.31 between the invoice and CC bill and the difference was the tax I paid. I notified HD and asked why they "estimate" taxes on the invoice. They responded with how glad they are that I'm a customer and how customer service is a priority and so on. I'm curious since everyone else I order through seems to have the software to calculate actual tax for my location (Phoenix). September 18, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Purchase The Drill Doctor 500 was as I expected. It sharpened my bits to where I can make good use of them again. The instructions booklet was pretty good however there are reviews on YouTube that explained how to use and setup the Drill Doctor very well. As far as sharpening bits, the Drill Doctor gets you "90% there" but then I found that if I used a hand sharpener, such as one from DMT, that really got me the edge I needed. Overall I'm quite happy with the Drill Doctor. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Right purchase Easy to use, just the one tool needed for the shop. Right price, quick ship. September 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Wonders I have a model 350 and it works wonders on all my dull bits. Bought this 500 as a gift and do not know how the additional features will perform, hence only 4 stars. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No More Dull Bits for me!! I had a used drill doctor that I got at a garage sale. It worked like used dog food, so I almost didn't get a new one. I had a small box of dull bits and setting up the tool/cutter grinder was getting old fast, so I went ahead and got this one. I figured I could take it back if it didn't work either. To my surprise it sharpened every one of those dull bits. I really liked the adjustments that allow tuning the bit to the material. It is reasonably fast. My beat up 1/2" bit sharpened right up. I intend to get the bigger chuck so I can sharpen up my bigger drills. You save money sharpening the little bits, but sharpen a few 3/4" bits and you pay for the machine. My only desire about the unit, as it came, is the course diamond wheel. The cutting edge on small drills is a little course. I will get the finer wheel, but it would have been nice to have had it included. No, it doesn't sharpen center drills, end mills, spade bits, ... I does drills, from screw machine size up, and does the job well. March 24, 2015
