CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A real money saver! I have been spending a lot of money replacing dull drill bits. A friend of mine recommended the Drill Doctor Drill Bit Sharpener and it is a gem! Sharpens the different sized bits right up so I get a lot more wear out of them. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very impressed! I'm a professional contractor, and I can't tell you how many drills my crew goes through. Sadly, when they get dull we normally throw them away, or at least throw them in a bucket in our shop. On a whim, I bought one of these the other day, since I was getting tired of buying $24 1/2" drill bits and thought I would try and sharpen a few. My first try was a huge success! Set-up was easy (comes with DVD instructions so doesn't get much easier than that). It took about two minutes to sharpen the first 1/2" bit, and I proceeded to drill 24 1/2" holes through 1/4" steel (with drill press) like I was going through wood! I decided to have a go at the toss-awaybucket, and within 1/2 hour I had sharpened over 50 drill bits! This is one of those tools that I wonder why I didn't get one a long time ago. It's paid for itself on the first day, and I may never have to buy another drill bit again. With that said, the only two things I might add are that 1) the model available in store (XP) doesn't appear to be as sturdy as the online version (500) which is the same price. If you don't need it right away, you might be better off ordering online. 2) sharpening bits smaller than 3/16" is pretty difficult, but I might just need more practice. January 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Sharpener I wish I had a nickel for every dull bit I threw away. No more since I bought this drill sharpener at Home Depot. When I got it I went through my old bits destined to be thrown away and sharpened everyone of them that same day I bought the unit. I am very pleased! October 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool to have I got mine on sale for $79. I replaces a old Harbor Freight sharpener and wow what a difference. First bits I sharpened were 3 old wore out 1/2" bits.. It took like 30, 1/2 turnes to get them sharp, but it took those old bits right back to factory. Easy to use. Highly recommend. I wish I had purchased it sooner. August 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Purchase I bought this for my dad for father's day, and he has loved it so much! He couldn't wait to go out to his shop to get started on his drill bits. His friends even come over to use it!! July 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well if you read the instructions thoroughly. It is not a simple throw a bit in and sharpen it. You must read the instructions. It talks about bit setup and methods. I've had great luck with just sharpening bits. Not too much luck with cutting a point on them to make the bit cut faster and grab better. It's also a little tough to see if your bits are sharpened the correct angle as the picture in the instructions show. But you start to see the difference the more you do. Also, I have bits made for a quick release chuck that are hex shaped half way and then the bit is normal. These don't work as well because the bit holder is meant for round bits so it makes it tough to get the bit started at the right angle. May 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of my best workshop purchases ever..... This product delivers and THEN some, excellent, sturdy engineeriing made in USA. Any serious DIYers or Woodworkers need to have this in the shop, right by your drill press. No gimmicks here, it will literally make dull drill bits look brand new and split point within 30 secs tops. Where I loved it was when building a deck I had about 10 dull 1/8 bits .... stop project and take an hour and a half to run to buy new ones.. no way not me. Enter the Drill Doctor ...plugged in on site.....10 like new sharp1/8 Drill Bits within 10-15 minutes. Deck Project resumed, back to putting up spiindles........ LOVE IT!!!! BUY IT !!
