Are the assist handles removable when mounted?

Once the seat has been mounted in place, can the assist bars be removed without unmounting the seat?
Asked by: Bob
The connection for the arms is located between the toilet bowl and the seat. You can not remove them when it is secure to the toilet bowl.

I like it where this riser fastens to the toilet and you can use a toilet seat and lid unit with it. It doesn't go forward when my husband is getting up and the handles give him the extra security. We had an older riser that clamped to the bowl in front and just set over it in the back for over five years and it moved around and my husband lost his balance, went forward and it was not pretty. Thank you so much I would recommend this riser to anyone who has trouble getting up and down.

Great product my mother is struggling with dementia and has some mobility problems including getting on and off the toilet this riser with handles has really helped! I used a white silicone caulk between the riser and the bowl to hold it more secure and to prevent fluids from coming out or being trapped between.

We have another raised toilet seat with a locking mechanism in front and it slips right off and seems dangerous. We have an older toilet and this fits perfectly and locks on tight just like a regular toilet seat. Also you can put your own toilet seat and lid right on top.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for temporary use this toilet seat riser works very well for use after surgery or other temporary situation. Its not possible to clean this well even when removed so would not be good for a more permanent situation. I tried to clean it after being use for hip replacement and could not get it thoroughly cleaned for use on next hip surgery. Unfortunately had to chuck it. It does work well though and someone suggested putting something between seat and toilet so that it won't sip around. I didn't know about that and had to tighten it a couple of times. You really don't want this thing slipping around after surgery! Also, easy to install and remove.

Absolutely great product. Following painful back surgery, 'She' loved having her own seat and lid and deemed this made the toilet even more comfortable than before this riser's addition. Equally importantly are the arms. They not only help in sitting and rising, but keep a person from twisting. The delivery was perfect and installation was as simple as can be with the extra length bolts included.

This picture shows a toilet seat and cover which do not come with the riser. I like the riser as I have a bad hip and cannot sit on a low toilet. The height and handles allow me to use the facility alone. I can't imagine adding a picture of the toilet riser in use..LOL That is a private matter they will have to take my word that it is great..
