I use this for coffee machine and filtering water for my fish tanks. Coffee tastes ok now if I don't lose any of marine life, I guess it will be alright.

Very good price for the functions and quality of this item even though it has been discontinued, i am disappointed that Home Depot has stopped selling the replacement filter also. I replaced my other Dupont faucet filtering system, the reason is this on tells me how much water has been filtered already and know exactly when filter needs to be replaced

Easy installation, low profile looks good, water filter monitor is nice feature so you know when your filter needs replacement. Too bad item is not carried in stores.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chuck Good price, good display but hard to read, no leaks.
We have owned this filter system for only a month, so my review does not consider longevity - only a short term experience.
Our utility water already tastes and smells great. We are mostly concerned with biological organisms and heavy metals. We have been using the Brita pitcher type for many years, but we learned it is not as thorough as we would like. The highly advertised, "Zero" filter, brags about removing "everything", but the fine print says they are only talking about minerals - not so well on the bugs.
Overall, the "faucet types" ranked best for removing the microscopic bugs and they do well enough at removing minerals. So we decided to study this type of filter over the pitcher types.
So far it has performed very well. After using it for over a month, we have only used 14 gallons of the 200 gallon limit per filter cartridge. The filters are priced well. So it looks like it is going to be more economical than the Brita filter were using.
We like that it is ready all the time with no pitchers to wash, and it returns the kitchen counter top space that was used by the pitcher.
One of the features we like about this brand is the display that tells you how much water it has filtered, but it is poorly designed. It claims to be illuminated, but we have to use a flashlight to read it. At least it has the display - other brands don't. To us, this is the only flaw worth talking about, and it is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5.
No leaks yet, so that's a good thing. Years ago, we tried the "Pur" brand of faucet filter and it leaked badly. That was when we decided to use the Brita pitcher. (It had a display, but stopped working quickly.)
The downside of this type of filter is obvious and unavoidable: the big object hanging from the faucet takes some getting used to, but we can adapt to it.
The knob you turn to switch between filtered and unfiltered water looks nice, but the stiffness and shape makes it less than ergonomic - another opportunity for improvement.
The bottom line is that it's priced right and works well, but time will tell if that opinion holds. No regrets yet.

This is the second one I buy. The first lasted more than 3 years. It started leaking so I had to replace. Tried Pur and Brita in the past, but like DuPont better. Water tastes natural without the chemical taste that usually occupies other filters.

I purchased this DuPont unit to replace a Pur, which by all rights should be pronounced Poor; leaked, sat crooked, slow and over estimated flow horribly. This DuPont was some what a surprise due being far better than imagined. I have had a DuPont in the past that worked well, but would not hold a candle to this new one. Here's hoping you have equal results with this filter system.
