DOES THIS DO THE SAME AS A WATER SOFTNER

Asked by: SUSAN
No, it is a filter to reduce sediment in your water. It does not soften the water.

Yes, but make certain you place the filter AFTER the well pressure tank.

What is the maximum water pressure this filter can withstand?
Asked by: Bird
If I am not mistaken, I think that the documentation said it was 120 ppi. With mine I discovered that at night my city was causing the pressure in the waterlines to be at over 100 ppi. I have since installed water pressure limiter.

How long between changing the filters. I noticed that someone was dissappointed in the filter. Can any filter fit in this?
Asked by: emily
Buy the more expensive carbon filter. It is designed for 1200 gallons. I just simply change mine every 3-6 months or when I notice that the water is changing in taste. A word to the wise, buy a 20" channel lock wrench to change the filter becuse the device that come with it does not last very long. Also make sure you turn off the water before the filter before you try to change it.

I am on my third unit in less than 15 years. I regularly change the filter to reduce sediment in my water system especially my tankless hot water heater. It improves the water's taste but I still use a Zerowater pitcher filter in my kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice heavy construction..comes with no fittings, cheap filter. Comes with cheap filter, and no fittings for installation..had to get 1' male fittings and reduce to 3/4"... Also put in shutoff on output side to avoid water feeding back from house while changing filter...housing is nice heavy construction.....nice if it came with fittings and shutoff on both sides...maybe they have an upgraded model with said features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product I ordered this filter on-line so I was taking a chance not being able to hold it and look at it before buying it. Received it in mail ahead of estimated delivery date. Upon unpacking it, I found it to be very well constructed and easy to install and pipe up. The 1" female NPT ports made fittings easy to find. This product is a great value for the price. Works as well as advertised.

I have three of these filter housings on my well system, installed inline before the water softener. I use sediment filters in the first two housings and a solid carbon block filter in the third housing. They are heavy duty filter housings that will accept most 10 X 4-1/2 filters. The reviewer who stated that they are not made for well systems and will not work with well systems doesn't know what he's talking about and I doubt very seriously that anyone at DuPont would state that this housing needs 60 psi constant water pressure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy Good construction, but was not pleased that I had to purchase a mounting bracket separately , should come with it. Other than that looks like a good filter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have had this filter for a lil over a month now and Love it! Easy to install. Does everything it says! I live in Phoenix and our water is hard as a rock and this system worked wonders! Im going to upgrade to the carbon filter when i change out the old 1. I have filters on all my water in the house and this makes em better! No loss of water flow! Great system Get ya one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works good! We live in an area serviced by a small community water district which is supplied by three different wells. We get a lot of iron and particulates in our water. We saw an immediate improvement in water quality after installing this filter. Very happy with this filter so far. Only suggestion is that the installation manual should specify the mounting bolt size. They are 5/16 by 1" lag screws and washers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed in filter The DuPont is a well made unit.My problem is that it isn't designed for well pump systems. The maker was no help. There answer was to return it for a refund. Not after i've installed it.There is no warning about this problem. It can not handle the flow thru the unit.Dupont says it needs a constant 60psi.Well pumps range from 40-60psi.I'm running it without an element,
