Is the red kerosene from a pump at gas station ok to use?

Yes works great and the price is much cheeper than the clear it the stores. I think the dye is added to keep people from using it in road vehicles such as diesel trucks.

What to do if it smokes? Oirs smoked up and filled our room with black soot.

Make sure the inner heating element is sitting down fully,if not it will smoke.

I live in Arizona temperature drop to about 30°- 40° degrees .I would like to use it on my patio that is enclosed on all side

by drop down mesh sun screens. is this the type of heater that would work best for my needs which is to keep it 60° appx in 8x16 patio?
