The DH-20 battery powered siphon pump is not what is pictured in the advertisement!
The pump that is in the store on this date 11/13/2015 is not for anyone that buys kerosene
in the 2 1/2 gal size containers which is what homedepot sell in a dual pack to match the 5 gal
The 5 gal cans is what this pump was made for, but a lot of the older men and lady can't handle
the 43 lbs + weight so they buy the 2 1/2 gal 2 pack. This pump will not do the job for them.
The pump displayed in the picture will work with 2 1/2 gal. container, but where to find one?

I have a Cub Cadet tractor and the gas tank is a little inconvenient to fill (capped sideways vs on the top) so I grabbed one of these on an impulse buy. Comes in a cheap plastic bag so I didn't go in with high hopes but very much to my surprise it works amazingly well, especially for something battery powered. I can fill from the gas can with minimal effort as well as use it to quickly drain my other seasonal power equipment. I drained a snow blower, a wood chipper and added two gallons to the tractor in a matter of minutes with no mess or aggravation of disconnecting fuel lines. Even if it broke in a year, for the price I'd buy it again.

I thought this would be nice to use in getting the right amount of deck paint out of a 5 gallon bucket into a smaller paint container. It started to suck the paint and then burnout the motor. Maybe it works for thinned paints, that I don't know. I'm not about to buy another one to find out the answer to that question.

This is a very good siphon pump. saves a lot of mess. Fills my kerosene heater in just a few minutes and no mess. the first time I used it I had a bit of mess, but learned you have to keep pump below the heater. Otherwise it will keep siphoning fuel. I now keep the heater higher then the can of fuel. End of problem. Sure beats the hand pump. One more thing, you can not use it in the 2 1/2 gallon plastic jugs as the pump will not fit.5 gallon an is fine.

I use this pump for filling both my keroscene torpedoe type heaters and my diesel tractor tanks from those heavy 5 gallon cans. It works like a charm, just have to watch that it doesn't get banged around to much because it is made of plastic. This is my second one in about 4 years due to dropping the other one on concrete. It is easy to store and it pumps pretty fast for a small battery opperated pump.

The brand on their website is not on the shelf at the store. In the store is a similar one by Wold Marketing of America Inc (made in China) Noticeable by the red and dark brown package.
Ran erratically three times and then motor failed. Yes, brand new batteries.
Found same brand at store of another chain. Thought maybe Home Depot just got a bad run. This one the motor ran but it refused to pump any kerosene.
At same time I bought last one purchased a simple squeeze bulb siphon pump again by same manufacturer.
Worked twice and then the little flapper valve stuck open rendering it useless.
If you can find the Dura Heat brand brand advertized on Home Depot website try it, reputable product line.
Gave it poor becasue it did not allow less, one stars because it does not allow less for what ended up in my trash can.

Makes transferring kero from can to heater so much easier and neater; no dripping or spillage. Was so impressed I bought a second one to use in my cabin up north.
