Product Overview

The DuraPlus system from DuraVent is designed to stay cool on the outside provide a hot draft on the inside and boost stove efficiency, offering a fire-safe design that protects both the chimney and building. This Stainless Steel Triple-Wall Chimney Stove Pipe features two insulating layers consisting of a ceramic blanket plus air space. The ceramic blanket insulation is held securely in position, eliminating hot spots common with loose-fill type insulations. In the event of a creosote fire, the compressible blanket insulation permits the chimney liner to expand outwardly in a radial direction. Designed for normal, continuous operation at 1000˚F flue gas temperatures, DuraPlus is subjected to rigorous and stringent HT requirements of the UL standard, including one hour at 1400˚F, plus three 10-minute chimney fire tests at 2100˚F.

No, absolutely not. Flu pipe needs to be as straight up and down as you can get, to allow for proper draw, and cooling of the pipe. The ideal manner is to have the fire directly underneath the top of the chimney. Horizontal flu pipe is only used in high efficiency appliances that do not let heat escape the appliance. Therefore a pvc pipe is used as the absence of heat does not evaporate humidity, and steel, and metal pipe will be corroded away. If your burning wood, or coal, use triple wall stainless from your first ceiling penetration out to your chimney cap. The straighter the run, the better the draw, and burn you will get. Try and plan your run as close to the center of your home as you can, as you want to keep your chimney cap, at least 3 feet above anything ten feet around it. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 72 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not thrilled with my choice of pipe MFG. Like all other reviewers, pipes come in damaged. I was installing my system with a zero clearance fireplace through a chase. I had difficulty twisting them locked while not fixed to anything as I needed to put several together in the air. I had to soap the connections. Needless to say they came apart within the chase and it was a disaster getting them out. I then had to screw them together and added aluminum tape as well around the joints. Job turned into a nightmare. Would consider another manufacturer if your appliance allows. They also are sloppy inside between the walls. Insulation always falling out and the centers move a lot. Expensive as well. September 6, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by duraplus pipe All the pipes were dented when I received them , making assembly of the sections a project. The shipping cartons were not adequate. The install manual was really not very clear, you can easily install these pipes upside down because they are not marked properly at the factory before packaging. Save yourself the aggravation and call customer service if you have any doubts. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really Cheap for Stainless Not sure if I am the only one to figure this out, but this is the Stainless version of this pipe. Which sells elsewhere for twice the price or more. Get it while you can, cause I think that HD is thinking this is the cheaper Galvanized version. October 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stove pipe Wrong pipe return to store after purchasing online October 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Safe Selection This triple wall chimney section is great for function, safety, and looks. Promises to last for years due to stainless steel construction. Twist lock into place fit great. Still, I put stainless steel screws into it to fasten it as the top section of my chimney is exposed to some pretty bad winds. September 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, but arrived with dents! I am very happy with the overall construction and rigidity of the Duraplus line. I did a lot of research before buying the through-the-wall kit and lengths of pipe. I have had in hand many of the competitor products and for me I like this line better. The biggest complaint that I have is what others have stated. I ordered three lengths of chimney pipe and all three arrived with dents. Two of the pipe sections had minor creasing, while one was dented pretty bad (picture attached). I was able to run a fire poker down the inside and pop out the dent slightly. I will most likely keep this pipe as I think it will be a gamble to order a new one. Why can't these ship in better boxes? If most are like me, you like to have a nice looking product when you spend so much money on construction anyways. March 22, 2016
