Gas Fireplace

Can i use these fire logs for a natural gas fireplace?
Asked by: Fabrice
Gas fireplaces are ok to start the fire. They are just a little bit overkill to start the firelogs. Usually a match is good enough to start the logs. The gas would make the logs burn out quicker.

I don't recommend that, as these babies stink and smoke like old burning tires!

Stores that carry them are so quick to discontinue them once the new year gets here. We have fires in our fireplace oftem until June. By then I can never find the logs. I think you should carry them at least until the end of March. Thank you.

I use these logs for two reasons. 1) They are an excellent way to quickly start a fire in our wood-burning stove. After lighting a duraflame log, I can then throw high-quality wood (oak or juniper preferred) on top of the log and it will produce a fire capable of heating almost our entire 1100-sq. ft. home for hours. 2) I take duraflame logs with us when we camp as an efficient way to start a campfire even with wood from the forest that is not quite dry. It will light in winds up to 20 mph (like it did this past week) and keep burning while the native wood begins to dry and ignite.

The disappointment is that the fire didn't last 5 hrs. It didn't last 4 hrs. So idk if "5 hrs" means you see flames for 5hrs or if the whole burning process is 5 hrs (lighting, burning, ambers, etc). I won't repurchase

By itself, burns intensely for about two hours in a middle-size Jotul wood stove, long enough to warm a 12 X 16 foot room with a 15 foot high cathedral ceiling. Although the logs leave a thin black smudge, there is no creosote.
