The Duralux 1 gal. Cruiser Blue Marine Enamel is a single package, topside enamel for use on primed steel and metal, wood, aluminum or fiberglass. Originally developed for pleasure and commercial boats, the properties of this product also make it ideal for all type onshore or offshore marine maintenance applications. It is salt water resistant, withstands repeated washings, resists oil and gasoline and holds up to the discoloration effects of harbor gases.

I am going over old gel coat and fiberglass. Does it need to be primered and if it does, with what and how many square feet does this gal. of paint cover.
We have an above ground pool and don't want to empty it. It falls down and would be impossible to paint.

The paint was thinner than I expected; it does need a primer under it for the paints best performance. Takes longer to dry than stated on can. The color dried was the same color in application. The gloss makes it look amazing how bright the color is but with glosses it does show imperfections left behind when closely looking at the canoe.

The Home Depot sight says no need for primer, the product labels say yes to primer. Also the Home Depot sight says mineral spirits solulable, product says use paint thinner.
