Product Overview

Dyco Tuff Coat is an interior/exterior waterborne acrylic formulated to provide a low sheen, protective finish on concrete surfaces usually found in driveways, garages, walkways, patios and pool decks. Tuff Coat is also excellent for use on asphalt driveways and resists fading, scuffing and cracking. Tuff Coat is easy to apply and cleans up with soap and warm water. Slippery when wet. Dyco recommends mixing SKID GARD No. 45 at 0.2 lbs. (3.2 oz.) per gallon to the final coat if surface to be coated is a ramp, steps or inclined plane; or is exposed to water from rain, sprinklers, pools or other means. If SKID GARD No. 45 is not available, see your paint specialist for a recommendation of a suitable aggregate to be used. NOTE: Adding SKID GARD to non-opaque coatings may alter final appearance. Test coating on a hidden area before applying to the entire surface.

Answer:
Yes, as long as the existing concrete is not covered by grime, glues, coatings, curing membranes, or sealers that inhibit the stain from soaking in, the stain won't be able to penetrate and achieve full color development.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems to be good stuff! Giving it four stars only because I've just applied it and have no idea of longevity. It's certainly thicker than regular paint, and that gives me confidence in its durability. Covered Georgia clay stains on a 40 year old garage floor with only one coat. Pressure washed and used a bit of degreaser before applying, waiting three days to ensure the concrete was dry. Used about two and a half gallons for a two and a half car garage. Cuts in well with a brush and rolls on evenly without any lap marks. The gulf gray darkens just a bit as it dries and is a terrific shade, not too dark or too bright. I also like that it's acrylic so cleanup is a breeze. Delivery was quick and the price is right (or maybe a value) for the quality. At this point, I'd buy it again! April 17, 2016
