This tank mounted heater does exactly what it claims to do at an affordable price. First thing I did once I installed this item was test the safety shut off. If anything it could be construed as too delicate, once heater is lit the smallest bump will shut it off. It throws plenty of heat, and does a decent job of making my barn workshop comfortable in this near zero weather we have been having in southern zone of NY

*I have done hourly weight measurements and figured out the consumption rates to be 1lbs of propane in 2.3 hours in the low setting and 1lbs per 1.1 hours in High. YMMV* FYI Heater assembly weights 2.2lbs.
Like the portability and small footprint of this heater. Very good output for size.
Bought this to use in my workshop but with the recent cold snap it found its way inside the house. Excellent little heater for auxiliary heat. Have used this heater indoors for the past 2 months with 2 carbon monoxide detectors and it has not set them off. Keeps my 1400 sqft ranch home at 70c without use of the heat pump. I would not recommended leaving this unattended or close to any flammable materials, since it heats everything up pretty good within 5 feet radius.
I have resorted to refilling 20lbs bottles rather than exchanging tanks, just because the extra 5lbs you get when refilling make a big difference in run time but its nice to have the convenience of exchanging the bottle at any convenience store if need be.
The heater itself it's kinda flimsy and very basic, seems overpriced for basically just a vertical stove burner, handle it with care, shut off the propane tank rather than the heater itself and let it flame out to burn all impurities (helps it last longer) and it should last you (hopefully) a few seasons.

Lost electricity in 0 degree weather with snow and high winds in a cabin with little insulation. This heater saved us from freezing, ran for two days straight. Kept the cabin above 50 degrees. Glad I bought it, delivered free and on time.

I bought four of these heaters for my patio. Within only a couple days two of them stopped working. I will be contacting Home Depot for instructions on returning. I wish they work because they are very effective when running properly.

This heater works very well once started and is noiseless, the problem is that fancy safety valve that incorporates a thermoelectric generator plus what appears to be a solenoid: the minimum vibration or accidental contact with the product it will reset and turn it off.
Asides from that ,once is turn off it won’t start again cold possible because builds up pressure inside the valve.
I found that unscrewing the whole assembly from the propane tank to relieve the pressure, although annoying to do it every time solves the problem.
Alternatively can be turn off with the propane tank valve itself leaving the heater’s knob permanently open.

The unit heats my 120Sq Ft work area well.
The plastic knob for screwing the unit to the tank is cheep and should be omitted or redone. I could not get it tight enough by hand to seal it. I ended up using Channel locks.
I would also reccomend getting the one with the piezo igniter just for convience.

I bought one of these last year, stopped working after 3 uses. I previously had a Mr. Heater for 11 years so I took it about and tried to bypass the valve. Didn't work, so I purchased another one last Saturday. It has worked twice and now won't light. Serious issues with these heaters.
