I'm not sure if it would do well mounted to a wall. For one thing you'd have to take it down every time you wanted to change the bottle of gas. Also, the controls are on the top, so would be more difficult to operate.

Answer:
No. The instruction manual is quite clear the gas cylinder has to be stored in an outside location. The heater is for use in a well ventilated space. It is specifically designed for construction use; so a garage with the door open is OK but a living room definitely not.

Answer:
Yes, if you follow the manufacturer's safe operating instructions. The key to safety is having adequate ventilation in the area that is being heated. This link provides a lot of information on heating with propane, including the signs that it is not burning properly, and thus producing excess carbon monoxide.

I think they are. I'm looking at this model because I saw it at a friends house. If you even jiggle it a little bit, or try to move/roll it while it's operating, it instantly cuts off the flame & propane.
It also has the oxygen sensor that will shut off if oxygen level gets too low.
But that is still no replacement for a good Smoke and CO detector as well as a large fire extinguisher.

I'm still on my first bottle of gas, so can't really say. I've used it three times, with all three burners going for the first hour or so, then down to two burners for several more hours. By tapping on the bottle, it sounds like it is still well over half-full.

{NOTE: I KNOW that I read that somewhere, but I'm unable to find that info at this time}
However, I find that to be fairly accurate. Some folks might get more. It depends on exactly how well the tank was filled with propane.
Each burner has an output of 6,000 BTU's. When on HIGH, it's quite Hot! (18,000 BTU's)
When it's on the highest heat level (as well as ANY heat level), make SURE you keep adequate room in front of the heater, above the heater and the sides. The owners manual will tell you exactly how far to keep it away from walls, furniture....etc.
Hope this helps. Read Less

Depends on how long you use it and what setting, low..medium or high. High setting uses it up faster, so we turned it down to medium which still heated up the garage and it was in 20's outside. They used about 1/8 to 1/4 tank per day Saturday and Sunday, not bad, I guess, but much cheaper than kerosene.

Very nice Construction Heater - like a construction site where the building is not closed up, that is what it says in the manual. Great for my drafty cabin. The gas fitting does fit onto the coarse threads of a standard 20 pound BBQ propane bottle except it screws to the inside fine threads, not the outside. The pilot light stays lit after 30 seconds according to the manual, although mine seems to stay lit after about 10 seconds. One tip - the wheels are not all the same. There is a bigger locking pair which go in the back and a smaller non-locking pair which go in the front.

I have purchased 12 of them in the last 2 years and 5 of them worked well enough to keep. Thanks to Home Depot's return policy, I am performing a much needed quality control service and it seems to be effective. If the pilot light does not stay lit after 4 seconds, take it back, it will only get worse. Last year, only about 30% of those purchased worked well enough to keep. This year about 80% of those purchased work well enough to keep. Well done!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Supplemental Heater This product performed as expected right out of the box! The three settings (Low-Med-High) had a burner for each setting and allowed for a quick heat up as well as conserving propane while running on only one burner. The only complaint I have after using the unit for 10 days is that the pilot light goes out easy, either from a light wind, or simply rolling the unit to another area of the room. However, the pilot re-lights easily.

It starts easily, operates quietly, and really puts out some heat without any of the nasty smell typical of kerosene space heaters. I only didn't give it 5 stars because I don't know yet know how long a tank of gas will last or how the heater will hold up over time. But so far I'm very happy with it. I like that it radiates heat out the front instead of all around and doesn't require electricity to operate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty Product Didn't stay lit right out of the box. This is what many other reviewers have also said. I should have heeded their warnings. Nice idea for a heater, but just has serious problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Unit Just purchased our 3rd unit, not because of faulty, but because they heat so well. I use them at both my homes. Put an attachable fan on top to circulate the heat and it heats up a vaulted room 1200 sq ft very efficiently. My 2nd home is all electric and surrounded by trees so don't get much sunshine, the electric bill is outrageous, this unit is awesome for heating the living area.
