Answer:
Yes, But because it is gas, make sure to vent the area to eliminate the possibility of any carbon monoxide build up or exposure. Open a window or door slightly for venting.

Freezing up

This question is from 50K - 200K BTU LP Convection Heater

I purchased this model in November (50,000 - 200K LP Convection Heater) from Home Depot and have recently tried to use when the beginning temperatures were in the low 20's. It lit and ran for a few minutes and then stopped. I assumed that something had frozen but in reviewing other comments or product reviews it doesn't seem like this should have happen, especially since the tank, lines and heater were warm to start with.

Would elevating the tank help?

Thoughts, suggestions?

Answer:
What size propane tank are you using? If shouldnt freeze a 20lb on low but if you try on high you wont get very much time on it. It does recommend using a 100lb tank for anything over 50k BTU draw.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pretty good product highly recommend doesnt work well outside in the open but if you have any type of enclosure its awesome. I bought it to use with pop up tents that i have made a plastic enclosure for and it heated them up quick. excellenmt product April 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy Easily assembled, easy to light, puts off plenty of heat.....for 5-7 minutes and then shuts off! Over and over. New propane tank made no difference. This is going back no question. March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This heater is a beast I just picked this heater up on sale for $69 I'm so happy with this heater my garage got to 80 degrees in minutes now I do live in California so the weather is not as cold as the Midwest but in 5 min at full throttle I guarantee anywhere you live will warm your garage up to 80 our higher. It's loud on high but that's ok for a few min lower it to half and it's perfect. At this price I'm gonna go buy two more for Christmas gifts for my buddy's. Ok now I have a 30 gallon propane tank running this beast I'm not sure how small of a tank you can use but I would recommend at least a 25 to 30 gallon tank this is a super great buy. And just to be safe I recommend any one buying any kind of heater like this to put a carbon monoxide detector in any area they will have heaters that run off kerosene our gas it's just a great way to protect urself and family. This heater beats all others for sure March 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great heater Bought this heater during the off season and ended up using it this past weekend in my garage when it was negative 4 out. Its a 3 car garage un-insulated and it ended up getting the space up to 74 degrees in about 30 minutes. Boy does it sound like a jet engine when on high. Do make sure to have a 100lb propane tank if using this on high as it states. It will freeze a 20 lb tank in a few moments due to the draw. Highly recommend this heater! Next purchase is insulation for the garage so I can keep this on low. February 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this heater lives up to the hype This is an amazing heater for the price. It puts out so much heat and is far superior to other products in its price range February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by stunningly awesome Well i was scept at first but i went and got it i was really suprised i got down to 8 yesturday the door on my breeze way is off and i out a tarp in place of it the room is 20x10 kept heater on low all night with a 40lb tank still has fuel in it could turn it up all the way no need does a great job January 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Need to Feel The Heat? Get one of these! I needed to warm up the shop where I'm doing some research, it's a cold metal building with little insulation 20'x14'. I dislike those turbo blast heaters, turn them on and you can't think and they are like a jet in full afterburners, no in-between. This is way different, 5 minutes on a 32F morning and the shop is warm, take off my coat and turn this down a little and the noise is reduced and I'm happy. Don't have the hot flashes and cold chills from the on off afterburner effect of a turbo heater. Easy to set up, worked first time and is very efficient. Dang good idea I had, you should do the same. October 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simple to use with good results. It's a simple heater that works well. I have only used it once but it appears to do the trick. December 15, 2015
