What is Code E1?

Asked by: Gentry
Read the label on the machine or the manual it has all the error codes. E1 is either fuel pressure, dirty filters, photo sensor or a dirty spark plug.

Put 5 gallons of #2 Diesel in it and turned it on. Wouldn't fire up the E1 code, truned the switch off and gave it a sec switched it back on...tried to ignite but wouldn't. Did this again and finally fired up, works excellent if running. But after about 20 minutes it coded again, although switched it off then back on and it ran for about 1.5 hrs without trouble. Used it the next day fired right up worked again for couple hrs....thought okay seems to be fine now. Next day same deal was very hard to get it going when finally did get it going flamed out twice. At that point I said enough this should not be the case right out of the box. Took it back to HD and returned it, will buy another model. My advice would be if you buy this don't fill it much, make sure it works so in case you have to drain it,not fun to drain. Far as its ability to heat have no complaint, have 2400 sq ft shop and it warmed it easily to Tee shirt conditions. To bad not a reliable unit. Read all the low rating reviews and seems all very similar E1 code.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater, very reliable I've owned this same model of heater (back when it looked a little more space age) since 2009, and was a little curious why some people had given it bad reviews. I found it completely reliable. It always started up, the thermostat worked great, and it would run continuously with no problems up to the last drop of fuel. When working in construction, I would set it up in the low part of the house, and before long, the entire place would be warmed up. Perhaps the people giving it bad reviews are the same people up late on Christmas Eve trying to figure out how to put together a Walmart bike. If it has any cons, it is a little hard to get it up and down stairs when full of kerosene. The wheels are hard durable plastic, that would not be the best for wheeling across a nicely polished floor. Other than that, it's a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Pretty Good I have a 2000 sq ft automotive shop which is really open to the elements. All I really need to heat up is the area where my guy normally works. Which is roughly around 600 sq ft and this thing definitely does the trick. I'm actually going to purchase another one for the other side of my shop because when I have my vehicles in the shop it pretty much keeps all the heat to one side of the shop and never travels to the other side. So this xmas I'll be getting another heater for the other side so my guy is not freezing his butt off. Definitely a good buy.

I purchased this to take the chill out of an unheated 1200 sq ft post frame building with no insulation in the ceiling, 12 foot walls. Assembly took less than 15 minutes. Fill with fuel, go. It puts out a lot of heat and actually worked better than I expected. I used Diesel #2. Yeah, you better open the doors when you first fire it off, but really it doesn't stink to bad after the initial puff of smoke. Then I close the door down some, but be sure not to close doors all the way, or windows. Get a CO detector to play it safe. Kerosene is cleaner, but far more expensive. Its noisy, it blows a lot of very warm air and in my case, just what I needed. It warms the building as much as I need. Pretty fuel efficient too, a gallon hour about. I am quite happy with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for 11 months then motor blew Worked great for 11 months then made some noise and quit checked everything to find that the motor blew out. Followed all storage and care directions so no real reason it shouldn't be working except its junk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Starts easy but eventually melted the end cap Loved this heater overall. Started easily when running diesel fuel in it and it has a strong fan. It doesn't blow a big cloud of smoke when starting like some of my other units did. Only had one item I wish was different - the thermostat is EXACT on the temp. If the room changes by one degree it is coming on again. I would rather it have a window of 2-5 degrees before coming on to save start/ stop cycles. After 7-10 tanks of fuel I noticed that the cap on the end of the flame chamber has distorted from the heat and is now not fully burning the fuel. I will be calling for service and hopefully they will stand behind their product!
