got this for garage heat it works good but is very loud. even on low. so if you want to listen to music you have to hear the garage then turn off then heat up then turn off. but over all a good buy.

A great heater for the price. I use it in my garage for my wooden toy business. It heats great, but the propane consumption leaves a little bit to be desired. My garage is insulated, but I will use one tank of propane about every 10 hours or less.

I currently own a smaller tank top heater and wanted to upgrade to a larger heater when working in my garage. Dyna Glo Pro is a great brand and this price from Home Depot was an unbeatable value. I could never afford the larger forced air units, but this is a great value and the perfect size to heat a 2 car garage to a comfortable temperature during the winter. The fan requires an extension cord to plug into the actual unit with a smaller 1ft cord (basically a safety feature) It looks great with a nice orange finish. I am very impressed by the build quality, it feels like a sturdy unit and has a carry handle on top for easy transporting. The propane hose is very long and makes it easy to position the heater where you need it. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and really recommend this heater. Propane is a much better fuel to use vs. kerosene due to the clean burning and lack of nasty kerosene smell.

I need a heater for my garage so that I can do maintenance on my cars and generally putter around during the winter. I purchased the heater, unpacked and attached the gas line and it was ready to go. The heater ignited immediately. It is a little noisy as others noted, not too bad though. There is some noise from the blower and then from combustion. Just the nature these types of heaters.
A very important concern for me was odor caused by unburnt gas. I noticed this on other propane heaters of the like. This heater burns absolutely clean. I experienced no odor or hydrocarbon smell.
If you need a portable heater this one deserves serious consideration.

Ready to go, just hook up to a 20-pound tank and you're chasing the chill. Roaring blue flame tinged with white tips; there's a slight odor, but this is typical of these forced-air propane heaters. I checked with a CO alarm, and got ZERO reading, so I think it's plenty safe. Fire it up outdoors the first time to burn off any oils etc that might be on parts that will get hot. [Others have commented on the one-speed fan: you can't have a choice, folks; it's providing the combustion air!]

Purchased this heater to keep me warm while working on job sites outside in mornings here in AZ in Dec & Jan when temps are in 40's and 50's. I put it about 8 feet from where I am working and it throws out enough heat to keep my warm enough to work comfortably. I use it on lowest setting and have to turn it off when temps start rising as it does get warm. I am sure if used in an enclosed space, this heater would raise temps extremely quickly as even outside in open it works great. Due to the forced air fan it is loud and does require electricity, but small price to pay. It's very lightweight and easy to move.
The one quality issue is the use of plastic for the nipple that the propane hose threads on to. I guarantee if you are not mindful with that area, the nipple will break off. It's a poor cheap choice and the one thing that stands out as a warning area.
I believe it's rated for 12-14 hrs on a 20lb cylinder on low.
Great value that could have been excellent if the manufacturer just changed to a metal hose nipple.

This heater works great! I compared to a Mr. Heater 38k BTU which is more quiet, but does not put out the heat like this one. This unit will heat my 3 car garage making it comfortable in about 10 minutes on high, then I put it on low just to maintain. Mr. Heater is more quiet but doesn't feel like 38k BTU compared to this one. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of how loud it is but at the end of the day, I need heat more than I need quiet... and you get used to it after a while. Overall, extremely good value and I'm happy with it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by SomeGuy Worked OK, then gave me problems.
Bought one of these units from Home Depot. Worked great for about 24 hours, then became very temperamental. Flame would go out for no reason whatsoever, then wouldn't re-light. When I was lucky enough to get it lit again, just looking at it wrong would cause the flame to go out. Called their tech line and hung up after being on hold for 1 hour just to speak to a tech. Returned the unit back to Home Depot thinking I just got a dud, but they were sold out.
Unit was of decent quality, with lots of safety features and great heat output. Just wished my unit worked correctly.
