PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Dyson Ball Multi Floor has the strongest suction of any vacuum. It uses Radial Root Cyclone technology and a reconfigured brush bar to remove more dirt and dust from the home. The redesign of the brush bar means that the bristles have been made shorter and stiffer allowing deeper carpet penetration to remove more dirt, while maintaining superior performance on hard floors. The Dyson Ball Multi Floor has better overall performance than any other vacuum. It achieves this through the combination of Radial Root Cyclone technology and a self-adjusting cleaner head which seals in suction across carpets and hard floors. The latest Ball technology allows easy steering into difficult places. More key technologies are housed inside the ball, which makes it even easier to steer under and around furniture. Other vacuums have a choice of settings for different floor types. This means that when moving from one floor type to another, suction power can be wasted. The Dyson Ball Multi Floor has an active base plate which self-adjusts to create optimal contact with every floor type. This reduces air leaks and retains more suction power at the cleaner head. Suction tested against upright market to ASTM F558 at the cleaner head, dust-loaded as per IEC 60312-1. The Dyson Ball Multi Floor vacuum pickup performance has the highest geometric average when carpet, hard floor and creviced hard floor results are combined. Tested against the upright market, dust-loaded.

Answer:
Hi Glenn. It's Vince with Dyson. The suction for this model should function from the wand/hose assembly while the unit is in the upright position. If you do require additional product assistance, please feel free to email us with your contact and product info to askdysonus@dyson.com.
Best wishes,

Answer:
Hi Nadine. It's Vince with Dyson. The Ball Multi-Floor is designed with a wand extension that can be used with your hose assembly. You can also remove the wand entirely from the vacuum, connecting your tools directly to the flexible hose. We will be happy to provide more details on the features found on the Ball Multi-Floor via email at askdysonus@dyson.com.

Answer:
Hi Feisty. It's Vince with Dyson. Reclining the vacuum into the "vacuuming" position, should automatically engage the brush bar. Pushing the brush bar button located right next to the power button after reclining the unit will deactivate the rotation on the brush bar itself. We will be happy to provide additional details on the functionality of the Ball Multi-Floor via email at Read More

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1312 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This thing SUCKS! I bought this vacuum to combat the fur produced by my 2 husky mixes. This vacuum does just that! It picks up everything so well and makes such good suction that I actually have to hold down my flimsier rugs! It does fantastic transitioning from hardwood to the rugs and vise versa! I highly recommend it to anyone tired of buying a new one every couple years! April 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great machine Better than my shark professional . Better suction easy to empty. Only complaint is hard to steer March 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job! It was time to purchase my 2nd Dyson. It took a couple times to get use to how the ball system works. Not the best ergonomic feature as it takes more force to push. However, now that I've been using it for a month I really like it. Especially the self leveling feature from rug to floor (nice). Glad I bought on sale because I do think it's over priced. January 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor vacuum constantly losing suction First time I ever really spent money on a vacuum and when I first used the Dyson I was so happy with it. But after 2 years, just 2 years of use, I will never buy one again. When I purchased it this model was almost 500 dollars. It clogs constantly and loses suction after one or two uses. Just to give you a idea that my home is not unusual, I have one dog a lab she does shed but not long hair like say a golden retriever and one daughter with long hair. And only two rooms with carpet the rest is wood flooring. Just with that minimal amount of use I have to break this vacuum down completely to clean it and unclog it almost once a month. And I don't mean just cleaning the filters, no you have to strip it down completely. cleaning the filters does nothing. I don't really consider my house to be that out of the ordinary to have this thing clog so often. Never loses suction my behind, it loses it about after 2 uses. Better off buying 2 or 3 cheap vacuums and just tossing them. Dyson will never get another dime from me. Again this is a 2 year old vacuum not 10. Let's put it this way, I was so upset with it I searched for a place to warn consumers about it after 2 years that should tell you something. Not a reflection on home deport this is Dyson issue. Just to add some other issues the dust chamber is hard to empty I have to go in with a ruler to get the hair/dust that is trapped between the tiny space between housing and motor. February 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoy vacuuming This is by far the easiest machine I have ever operated. I actually enjoy vacuuming. Pretty simple to assemble and works great. Bought two: one for me and one for my church. January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works perfectly and picks up a lot of things the last vacuum missed I had an old, cheap vacuum before that took a lot of effort to get around. In addition, it clearly wasn't working, because I filled this one up three times in a week as "catchup" vacuuming after switching to it. Emptying is a breeze, and assembly was simple. Weight is good and sucking power is perfect. Is a little loud. January 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for pet hair Too many plastic parts, the cleaning wand is only good for distance and not very maneuverable, but it really gets pet hair out of the carpet! December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Vacuum Deinfetely recommend this vacuum! Couldnt believe everything it pulled out of my carpet the first time i used it! Makes me wish I had bought a Dyson sooner. Also love that it changes its own level depending on what type of floor you are vacuuming no mpre having to manually adjust the vacuum! November 25, 2015
