Product Overview

The Dyson DC25 Animal is designed for homes with pets. It can be used on all floor types- carpet, wood, laminate, tile, and features Dyson’s patented Root Cyclone technology, that doesn’t lose suction power as you vacuum. DC25 Animal also features Ball technology, which allows you to smoothly steer the vacuum with a turn of the wrist. Because the motor is inside the ball, it has a low center of gravity making it even easier to steer and turn corners. The quick-draw telescope reach wand of the DC25 allows up to 16 ft. of reach for stair and high reach cleaning. The Clear bin made of tough polycarbonate lets you see when it needs emptying. DC25 Animal comes complete with a Mini turbine head attachment to remove pet hair and dirt from hard to reach places such as upholstery, stairs and the car. Other on-board accessory tools include a combination accessory tool and a stair tool. DC25 Animal comes complete with a 5 year warranty, parts and labor guaranteed by Dyson. As with all Dyson vacuum cleaners, DC25 Animal has no loss of suction.

This system is pricey, but will worth every penny you spend. I have had the Bissell's for years and they don't even compare to the Dyson. I love this product and did spend the money to purchase this product and am not disappointed one singe bit. Happy hunting!!

Good price. But you can save yourself about $238 by buying the Hoover Windtunnel that is turquoise. Don't have the model number, but it is cyclonic, hepa filters, etc. Selt-retracting cord, larger dust bin, longer cord. Cleans just as well as the Dyson. I bought the Dyson, returned it and got the Hoover. Much happier.

The difference that we have observed is the powerful suction this unit has performed, which also helps to suck in the loose pet hairs left in the corners and edges.

Hi it's Vince with Dyson. The DC25 Multi-Floor and Animal models are designed in the same way functionally. The biggest difference between these two models will be the color of the unit, and the additional accessories that come standard with the Animal model. These accessories are available for purchase separately.
Best wishes,
Vince.

I bought mine and it showed up brand new, they're not refurbished. If you're looking for refurbished the refurbished ones you can find for a decent amount cheaper... Maybe $100? But when it comes down to it, you're looking to buy a Dyson because you want a quality vacuum that's going to last longer then a year or two. With as cheap as The Home Depot sells new Dysons, especially if you can purchase one with a Home Depot card or a 10% off mailer then you're going to get a brand new vacuum that's going to last you a very long time and you know you can return it to Home Depot with no problems or issues. Occasionally they have floor models for sale in store that are the same price as the refurbished ones just because they sat on the shelf for a year and probably don't have a box you would throw away anyways. My vote is new, with the price you can get at HD it's worth having brand new and you have a 5 year warranty from the day you bought it from Dyson on top of it all. Hope this helps! Read Less

Hi this Jay with Dyson.
Dyson flat-out tool is great for under the bed cleaning. It articulates for effective pick-up, and is especially handy for cleaning under low furniture and household appliances. You can purchase it from Home Depot below;

DC25 Animal Upright Vacuum with Bonus Accessories is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1700.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wellllllll I have had it since '09. 2 dogs; australian shepard and border collie/blue heeler. Hard to get their hair off one darker rug where I can actually see the hair. Have had other brands that have picked up hair on the darker rug quicker. Handles very well but I have had to replace the hose a few times; which is disappointing. Think they could improve on the way it bends where you hold it because if you use it on stairs; it is very awkward. The hose always gets a hole right near where you hold it; at least it has happened there every time for me and I do not stretch it to it's full length. Does have good suction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and functional! I've been using this machine constantly. Never stinks like other vacuums. Picks up a lot of fine dust and fantastic at picking up hair and pet fur. This has been the best vacuum I have ever owned. The only thing I dislike was the cleaning of the filter BUT it was worth it not to have a stinky vacuum. I've just purchased the Cinetic Animal Canister Vacuum and hope I am as happy with it as I was with this machine. Also, another issue was not being able to get under many things so I had to move furniture to clean the way I prefer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING! I already own the Dyson V6 Motörhead, but was looking for something to use in the dog room that holds more in the canister. I was having to stop and empty to V6 Motörhead multiple times through the course of vacuuming the house because of the dog room. I bought the DC25 Animal hoping that it would be a good alternative for the dogs area. It surpassed what I expected. I haven't bought any other brand of vacuum since I started using Dyson's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dyson DC25 Animal Great machine, does what it says it should as far as great suction/cleaning. However, two items are negatives. First, far too many parts are made out of plastic. Already, the clip that secures one of the attachments to the wand has broken, just from normal use and I've only had the machine a year. As time goes on, I foresee more and more of these somewhat brittle plastic pieces breaking and disabling important components. For the price of the machine, these key components should not be made of plastic. Second, the flexible tubing leading to the extension wand is too rigid and makes it difficult to use the wand without exerting a lot of force to allow any range of motion at all.
Date published: 2011-02-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pikker Upper :-) Being 77 years old, I have had many vacuum cleaners and this one is, by far, the best one yet. If I outlive this vacuum cleaner, I will certainly get another Dyson. The first time I saw this vacuum I was visiting my daughter In Boise, ID.(who has 2 big dogs) and I was so impressed on how well it picked up the dog hair. You could she see the amount in the see-through cannister. I have a Mini Schnauzer who does not shed much, but this vacuum sure picks up what she does shed. I love that it is bagless. That is such an improvement on vacuum cleaners over the years. It swivels good too. I keep telling my daughter how much I love my new Dyson. I haven't had it quite a year yet.
