We have 5 kids & 2 dogs who shed a lot (the dogs). I am amazed how much the DC41 picks up dirt and dog hair. It never seems to lose suction and never gets plugged like our last high-end vacuum that we paid more than double for. Plus no bags to buy-thank you Dyson.
We've had it over 2 months now and not one problem or complaint about it. In fact its a fight between my wife and older kids on who gets to vacuum.

I have to say I hated this vacuum after a year it was not sucking at all, I gave a bad review and contacted Dyson. I am so impressed they had me send my vacuum in to fix it, when I got it back it still was not working well, I let them know and they made it right. I am very impressed that they checked back with me and made sure I have a vacuum that works. Thank you customer service

I bought this vacuum Friday in-store and it was used Saturday. I have area carpets and antique wide flooring otherwise, including kitchen. ( Also some sisal in two rooms.) And a shedding dog with white hair... Needless to say it has been a challenge. The first vacuuming was amazing. The cup was emptied endless times because it brought up so much hidden dirt in sisal, residual dirt in the wool carpets and the best was the accumulated, impossible 'til now to remove dirt and dust in the grooves between the wood flooring. We immediately have noticed reduced sneezing. This will be the best ever. We now know why Dyson has been recommended by so many friends.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MisterPete One of the best tools of any kind that I have
After watching a few thousand Dyson commercials, I was tempted. When my old vacuum was simply more weight and problem than useful, I decided to take the leap to Dyson based on the commercials. In three words: Glad I Did!
The cleaning power in my house of three cats is extraordinary. My first foray through all rooms (where the old machine would fill, perhaps, 1/4 bag, I filled and emptied---with ease---the DC41 tank about eight times! Stuff I hadn't been getting! And so easy to empty!
It really is easy to maneuver, is and feels light, and gets into places where the old tank couldn't possibly go.
In one word: WINNER!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cherc Good suction
It has great suction, but it's very expensive. I hope it's worth it in the long run. I previously owned a Hoover that was maybe $150 less than what I paid for the Dyson. The Hoover lost its suction after awhile and it started to short out at 4 years old. I'm hoping paying extra for a vacuum with a warranty is worth it.
I don't know if it's my hand or the way I vacuum, but it almost gives me a blister every time I use it. I can't vacuum 2 days in a row because I need to give it a day to heal. My skin hasn't broken yet - just feels like a blister would come. I'm convincing myself my clean floors are worth the pain in my hand.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Judy An outstanding purchase.
I always thought my prior vacuum cleaner was the best vacuum on the market until I bought the Dyson DC41 animal. I had vacuumed my carpets daily during some construction work thinking I had sucked up all the debris. Alas!! When I ran the Dyson, I was absolutely amazed at how much dirt was left behind. The suction is so powerful that it fluffs the pile on the carpeting as well as vacuuming up the dirt. What a difference--especially in the high traffic areas. The Dyson is very easy to maneuver, gets into hard to reach places, hugs the baseboards and I like the idea of having the attachments at my fingertips. It's easy to empty.
