Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dann43 A step down for Dyson
I have two Dyson's that are 5 years old and they are excellent. The best ever. BUT the new animal complete is a total let-down. It's feels cheap, made with more and thinner plastic, the roller wheels make it very hard to maneuver, and I'm not convinced it picks up my Golden Retriever's hair any better than my older Dysons. Why did Dyson do this. I feel betrayed as a loyal customer. I'm waiting for it to break and I've had it only for a month. You're better off to stay with the conventional Dysons but I don't know if they are making those cheaper now.

I have owned, at one time or another, "most" other brands of vacuums and none of them stack up to what this one will do. Great job Dyson !!

New carpet deserves a new vacuum and the Dyson Animal is everything it is said to be. The price was the best in this area and it shipped immediately.

Vacuum has worked flawlessly for 4 years but recently the ball cover on the right side cracked and fell off, and the canister release button cracked and now the canister is a little bit of a pain to take off and put back on. It was registered though so I chatted with support and they are replacing the whole canister!!! They also gave me the name and address of a Dyson service center and a reference number to give the service center to fix it. Customer Service was so awesome that I'll be a customer for life.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ingway 5 years later and it's still a great machine.
I purchased this vacuum almost 5 years ago when we were living in a home with carpet in every room. I immediately noticed our allergies were not as bad once we started using the DC41. That's quite a statement considering the carpets where we lived were probably as old as we are. It took probably 5 passes to stop filling the canister every time we vacuumed, but even with the worst case scenario for carpets - this machine didn't skip a beat.
We have since moved to a home with all wood flooring and while it seemed like overkill for a home with no carpets, the attachments made cleaning nooks, crannies and elevated areas no problem so we continued to use it. This is an amazing piece of equipment and kept dander and cat hair (and our hair) to a minimum.
Much to our surprise we were contacted by Dyson to try their new V8 Animal Cordless system which we just received and I'll be reviewing in a few days. In lieu of our new vacuum coming in we've gifted the DC41 to a friend of ours who is a single mother with 3 boys in a fully carpeted house and she had been singing it's praise ever since she got it.
5 years after it's initial purchase, extensive use in strenuous conditions and now a saving grace to a mother who needed a good vacuum - there can't be much more said about this product. Worth every penny.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer Very Pleased. Repeat Dyson Customer
Our family (3 humans, 2 cats, 2 dogs) had a Dyson DC14 for a few years and loved it. We decided that some of the features of the DC41 we something we wanted to try so we decided to retire the old one, and get the new one. We have been very happy. The ball takes a little getting used to, but does maneuver very easily. The improved hard service use is a great benefit to us, as it has eliminated some of the sweeping we used to have to do. The attachment hose is longer which is nice for stairs. The additional attachments in this model make cleaning ceiling fans, drapes, and blinds quick and easy. We highly recommend this machine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DoggiesRule Great machine
I've had this vacuum so long I can't even remember buying it. It works great and stays true to their claim of not losing suction- if mine does it is clogged with something I shouldn't have gone after and troubleshooting the clog is pretty straightforward. I can't imagine it being easier. I would prefer if I didn't have to dig the dog hair out from around the cage inside the canister, but maybe that is me letting it get too full. That isn't really a complaint, just more of a comment. Buy this machine on sale and you will be happy for sure.
