I bought this vacuum because I needed one without a cord for quick jobs around my wood floors, I have 3 kids, 2 dogs and 3 cats so my floor needs to be vacuumed everyday. The battery life is poor, it will only do half my house and I don't live in a mansion. The motor head get's clogged on a regular bases, I have to take it apart and literally cut hair from the spindle, if I don't do this the vacuum will actually stop working all together, I have other Dyson vacuums that I LOVE, I don't have this problem with them, they pick up the hair and never get clogged and stop working. For the price I paid for this vacuum it's a HUGE disappointment

We have a drag behind canister sweeper but found that we didn't use it as often as we should because it was bulky and heavy. The smaller battery sweepers wouldn't pickup anything heavier than hair and the batteries were short lived.
Our Dyson is easy to use and has the power to pickup most material on on the floor. The attachments work well. We find we use the Dyson much more frequently and with far better results.
Our only disappointment is the battery time but which is still far better than any cordless sweeper we have every had.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Dandi good for in-between cleanings
I own a dyson upright that is over 6 years old and was sick and tired of lugging the heavy machine up and down the stairs for cleanings so when I saw this lightweight, cordless option from dyson I thought I'd give it a try. Easy to assemble and mount on the wall, charges pretty well. Picks up good, as good as my other dyson, no. But great for real quick cleanups and great for the stairs. My biggest complaint....the trigger you have to hold in order for the machine to work. It actually hurts my wrist and forearm, and I'm in shape, I work out, and this little trigger really bothers me. I can only imagine if you are older or maybe have arthritis in your hands this machine may not be an option just due to the trigger issue, but other than that its another great product by dyson.

Rated 5 out of 5 Nice little machine
At first I wasn't too keen on the way it picked up small pieces of "stuff" from the floor. Well I had to slow down, I am a speed sweeper I do believe. You know the kind always in a hurry... Well after I learned to slow down it does just fine. The battery is great even if I put it on max for my braided oval rugs. I use it mostly on hardwood floors and oval rugs. It is great that it can hang behind my bathroom door... and the attachments hang there too... imagine that - you don't have to hunt them. They dust cup is very well made and easy to clean with just the push of a button... big plus for me... The filter is easy to get to and wash. Now it will take a day to dry back out. Plan ahead... So far so good and I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 Love this vacuum
The reason I bought this vacuum was to have a quick and flexible method to keep my floors clean. I love the Animal. It is so easy to use and flexible with all of the attachments and the fact that it is battery powered makes it even easier to use. I can grab it and quickly spot vacuum in areas that I see need it. It is so much easier to use than my full size corded vacuum. And as promised in the advertising, it never loses suction. Thanks Dyson.
