Product Overview

DC65 is a powerful upright vacuum on a ball, with the strongest suction of any other vacuum* It uses Radial Root Cyclone technology and a reconfigured brush bar to remove more dirt and dust from the home. The redesign of the brush bar means that the bristles have been made shorter and stiffer allowing deeper carpet penetration to remove more dirt, while maintaining superior performance on hard floors. The Dyson DC65 is a powerful upright vacuum cleaner designed for multi-surface cleaning. It achieves this through the combination of Radial Root Cyclone technology and a self-adjusting cleaner head which seals in suction across carpets and hard floors. The latest Ball technology allows easy steering into difficult places. More key technologies are housed inside the ball, reducing components on the outside of the machine. Removing clutter from around the ball makes it even easier to steer under and around furniture. Other vacuums have a choice of settings for different floor types. This means that when moving from one floor type to another, suction power can be wasted. DC65 has an active base plate which self-adjusts to create optimal contact with every floor type. This reduces air leaks and retains more suction power at the cleaner head.

  • *Tested to ASTM F558 at the cleaner head, dust-loaded against upright market
  • Radial Root Cyclone Technology, remodeled airflows help remove more dirt, dust and allergens from the home
  • Reconfigured brush bar is 25% more power drives bristles deeper into carpets removing more dirt
  • Ball technology maneuvers easily around furniture, obstacles and into difficult places
  • Instant high reach wand, no catches or parts to assemble, reaches the top of the stairs
  • 5 year warranty, parts and labor

Answer:
I have HW floors, throw rugs and cats. I like that this vaccum automatically adjusts to the surface being vaccumed. Also, it will vaccum throw rugs without sucking them into the vac canister. The amount of cat hair vaccumed is amazing.

The difference is in the number of tools that come with the machine. The machine itself is the same. There are more tools as the price goes up from multi-floor to animal to animal complete.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 50 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DC65 EXCELLENT THIS IS VACUUM IS INCREDIBLE, WITH OVER 5000 SQUARE FEET OF LIVING SPACE, 3 FLOORS, 3 KIDS FRIENDS AND 4 DOGS. I WISH I HAD BOUGHT IT SOONER. GREAT MACHINE AND EVERYBODY NEEDS TO OWN ONE May 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! I love almost everything about it. My only complaint deals with using the hose and attachments. When you use the hose and attachments, and you are not using them to reach up, the hose kind of pinches where it goes into the wand. I like to use the hose to get my baseboards, and cracks and corners along the floor. The hose has excellent suction, but I do have to be mindful to hold everything just right so the hose doesn't bend and pinch at the wand and reduce my suction. I really do love my Dyson as a whole, it's just a quirky little thing to remember to hold the hose and wand just right so that the hose doesn't pinch off at the wand. March 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dyson Rocks I had used a dyson for 7 years . The DC 45. I saw another one on qvc and purchased it. The DC 65 . I gave my older one to my daughter- in - law and was a little heartbroken in the beginning. I began to really like my new one. It is lighter for me as I am now older. The suction is just as great , more tools, I had to get used to it. It was a adjustment for me. I went through one vacuum a year.before I got the Dyson. I have four dogs and a cat. Nothing sucks up the hair like these dysons. Easy to connect and disconnect the tools. Push of a button . Nothing like it. I will never get anything else. Great vacuum!!!! June 19, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No improvement over old machine I recently upgraded from a DC15 machine that was 7 years old. While the new machine had a good suction rate the ball is not as easy to use as is pictured, it is harder to remove the hose to use the extension rod, and the attachments from the old machine do not fit the new machine so you need to buy new attachments. I asked if there was an adapter but was told there was none. It is an adequate machine with a large price tag. I would have kept my old machine if I knew that I would have to purchase new attachments and that the ball is not any easier to use than a regular beater brush, fixed head machine. March 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Pets! My wife and I have two black haired pets, a dog and a cat, so our floors and furniture were always covered in their fur(plus the ceiling fan, rugs, you name it). Our previous vacuum did an okay job,but after cleaning I could rub my hand around on the carpet and still pretty easily produce a fur ball. However the Dyson DC65 is simply amazing. I consistently pick up much more of the fur, dust, and dirt than I ever did with my previous vacuum. The attachments are great for our hardwood floors, rugs, couch cushions, ceiling fan, window sills, and blinds...I can pretty much use it anywhere. I had always heard good things about Dyson vacuums, but now I am a convert for life. March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by i was pleasantly surprised when my wife brought this one home. We had bought another one earlier as a gift and I had used it at my daughters home, but this one I got to "snap together", so was able to see the extensive designing that had gone into making a machine that works like a horse and is simple to assemble and use. The very first task was to vacuum out 2 neglected cars. The only complaint is the rigid section of the hose part is a bit too long when trying to manipulate around the nooks and crannies between the seats of the car, but the tools worked well and for normal floor use everything is very good. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Used vacume for sale After using my new dyson to clean my carpets, I've been wondering why I never bought this vacume before? Oh, it was because of the price. Now if you tale all those lousy vacume cleaners that I bought and had to get rid of cause they stopped working after the first use. And added them all up in price. You will find out that I could have bought 3-4 dyson son in the first place and saved a ton of money. Stop wasting money! BUY THE DYSON. August 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Vacuum Cleaner I like this upright vacuum cleaner. I had a small Dyson, but it was not powerful enough for the carpet. This one is very powerful; it picks up dirt/dust way deep down and, if I had animals, I'm sure it would pick up all the hair. I love the length of the cord (about 35 feet) and the wand goes high enough to catch cobwebs. I also like the fact that the attachments I had bought for my small Dyson fit onto this larger one. I have a hose extender which makes it easier to vacuum the stairs. This way the machine can be positioned on the landing. Overall, a great vacuum cleaner and well worth the money. However, it is a bit heavy; I probably would not recommend it to an old person with a bad back. March 30, 2015
