I recently posted a negative review of my Dyson DC65 Vacuum cleaner because of some problems I was having with it.
However, I am now revising that review and upgrading my rating to positive and excellent. Part of this revision is due to my recent interaction with Dyson Customer Care and their Service Representative Carissa. Carissa was superb at helping to let me fully explain the ongoing problem and the steps I had taken according to the instruction manual. She was extremely helpful.
Her final recommendation, especially since the vacuum is still under warranty, was to send it directly back to the factory (instead of incurring any delays if parts were needed by a local service company). She sent me the UPS directions and shipping instructions, and told me Dyson would pay all packing and shipping costs, all I had to do was drop the machine off at the UPS store along with their instructions.
I followed her instructions, shipped the machine, received confirmation from Dyson of its receipt, and within 48 hours received notification that it had been repaired and was being shipped back to me.
I then asked Dyson repair what the problem was, they replied with an answer immediately explaining what had happened and what they did.
I received the vacuum back and it is now fully functional as it should be.
This is one of the most positive experiences I have ever had with any company and its customer service personnel. The product is excellent and their response time is also excellent.
Thank you once again, Carissa and the Dyson repair team for all your assistance.

I love almost everything about it. My only complaint deals with using the hose and attachments. When you use the hose and attachments, and you are not using them to reach up, the hose kind of pinches where it goes into the wand. I like to use the hose to get my baseboards, and cracks and corners along the floor. The hose has excellent suction, but I do have to be mindful to hold everything just right so the hose doesn't bend and pinch at the wand and reduce my suction.
I really do love my Dyson as a whole, it's just a quirky little thing to remember to hold the hose and wand just right so that the hose doesn't pinch off at the wand.

I had used a dyson for 7 years . The DC 45. I saw another one on qvc and purchased it. The DC 65 . I gave my older one to my daughter- in - law and was a little heartbroken in the beginning. I began to really like my new one. It is lighter for me as I am now older. The suction is just as great , more tools, I had to get used to it. It was a adjustment for me. I went through one vacuum a year.before I got the Dyson. I have four dogs and a cat. Nothing sucks up the hair like these dysons. Easy to connect and disconnect the tools. Push of a button . Nothing like it. I will never get anything else. Great vacuum!!!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer No improvement over old machine
I recently upgraded from a DC15 machine that was 7 years old. While the new machine had a good suction rate the ball is not as easy to use as is pictured, it is harder to remove the hose to use the extension rod, and the attachments from the old machine do not fit the new machine so you need to buy new attachments. I asked if there was an adapter but was told there was none. It is an adequate machine with a large price tag. I would have kept my old machine if I knew that I would have to purchase new attachments and that the ball is not any easier to use than a regular beater brush, fixed head machine.

My wife and I have two black haired pets, a dog and a cat, so our floors and furniture were always covered in their fur(plus the ceiling fan, rugs, you name it). Our previous vacuum did an okay job,but after cleaning I could rub my hand around on the carpet and still pretty easily produce a fur ball. However the Dyson DC65 is simply amazing. I consistently pick up much more of the fur, dust, and dirt than I ever did with my previous vacuum. The attachments are great for our hardwood floors, rugs, couch cushions, ceiling fan, window sills, and blinds...I can pretty much use it anywhere. I had always heard good things about Dyson vacuums, but now I am a convert for life.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by vebdoc i was pleasantly surprised when my wife brought this one home.
We had bought another one earlier as a gift and I had used it at my daughters home, but this one I got to "snap together", so was able to see the extensive designing that had gone into making a machine that works like a horse and is simple to assemble and use.
The very first task was to vacuum out 2 neglected cars. The only complaint is the rigid section of the hose part is a bit too long when trying to manipulate around the nooks and crannies between the seats of the car, but the tools worked well and for normal floor use everything is very good.

I like this upright vacuum cleaner. I had a small Dyson, but it was not powerful enough for the carpet. This one is very powerful; it picks up dirt/dust way deep down and, if I had animals, I'm sure it would pick up all the hair. I love the length of the cord (about 35 feet) and the wand goes high enough to catch cobwebs. I also like the fact that the attachments I had bought for my small Dyson fit onto this larger one. I have a hose extender which makes it easier to vacuum the stairs. This way the machine can be positioned on the landing. Overall, a great vacuum cleaner and well worth the money. However, it is a bit heavy; I probably would not recommend it to an old person with a bad back.
