Customer Questions & Answers

Can also be used in drywall? Tnx

Also, where are your products made?
Asked by: ABQ
Read the package labels (this one says "hollow core door)." Different packaging will say either hollow core door, hollow core door and drywall, drywall or drywall and studs. The coloring on the packages is very similar and you need to read the package label to determine if it's the right one for your job.

What size screw do these use?

I am installing a 3/4" rail to the back of the door and would like to buy a longer, compatible screw to make the installation more secure.
Asked by: Jeff
The screw length is 1.25". The size of the screw is possibly a # 6. If you check the Product manufacturer website (Easyanchors.com), they recommend at least 1/2" for the anchor + product thickness. If you check your local home Depot, they should have longer size # 6 screws that will fit this product.

Is the weight rating of 40 pounds per anchor? For example 4 anchors would add up to 160 pounds.

Asked by: TomS
According to the manufacturer website, the answer is no. If you need something to hold that kind of weight, check out the Hilti Toggler anchors (also sold at Home Depot). Those anchors are designed to support that much weight and more.

1-1/4 in. Hollow Door and Drywall Anchors (4-Pack) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for hollow core doors The accompanying screws are too long for hollow core doors. If you're going to market these as dual purpose anchors then at least include hardware that's compatible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hollow door anchors I have tried several different hollow door anchors, but these worked the best for me. They hold well, much better than previous ones i've used. And these were used to install some hinges on a hidden door. Hollow door hinges can usually be installed in the normal way, but these had to be installed on the flat surface of the door to hide the hinge pins. And I used four hinges to spread the load out. Works very well. Must note, that when I asked the employees at Home Depot, they told me that they didn't carry them. Googled the item, and they were available at Home Depot. I ordered them over the internet and was informed that I could pick them up in about 1/2 hour at the store that said they didn't have them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution After losing plastic anchors and their matching screws into oblivion inside the drywall I read reviews on this web site and found out I should buy these metal anchors. No drill needed was important to me as was the ability to hold up my wooden board towel rack. These anchors screwed in easily and work perfectly for my needs. For lighter weight projects I definitely recommend these over having to pre-drill a hole for the anchor and also for anyone who may remove something later and doesn't want the big hole a toggle bolt leaves in drywall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I needed to hang a robe hook on the back of the bathroom door - which is hollow, and these were fast, and easy to use. No drill required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described There's really nothing to say about this product except that it works as intended and it's a great value. I love how Home Depot has installation videos as well. For the longest time, I kept hammering wall anchors. The ends would split apart and basically become useless. Screwing them in makes much more sense. LOL! Thanks Home Depot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked as described I needed to hang a mirror on the back of a hollow luan door. Knowing that a sheetrock anchor would not work, I went to my local HD store and found that they don't stock and had to order online. With no where else to go, I ordered and they arrived as week early. They worked as advertised.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tips Break Very Easily I have used these on two different installations, and every time I have had one of the anchors break during installation. They are fragile and cheaply made. The first time it happened to me, I was using a power drill, so I assumed it was too much torque. The second time I screwed the anchors in by hand. It is extremely frustrating when this happens. You have to dig out the tip of the anchor from the door, damaging the door further, and start over. I went to a local hardware store and they had another brand with which I have not had any trouble. If they install properly, they do work well. Oh, and, the last time I used this kit, one of the screws refused to go all of the way in to the installed anchor. It turns out the screw had malformed threads! I inserted another screw from the kit into the same anchor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product Works exactly aadvertised. I'll admit, I was skeptical when buying them as I had to mount three Ikea shelves on my kitchen wall to store a collection of heavy pots and pans. They work just as advertised; I've had them up for the better part of two years with never a lose fitting nor any cracks in the drywall. The only things I would have to mention are: 1) they do make rather large holes in the wall, so if you're a renter, you may want to think twice before gouging a hole in your wall. (Can be covered with some putty and paint). 2) The metal anchors can easily get stripped so make sure you have the correct sized screwdriver and you install them perfectly square to the wall. Otherwise you will strip the anchor and it will be a mess to remove. I had to throw away a few. 3) Each one of my shelves holds about 60-70 lbs of stuff on them, however I did use 4 per shelf, meaning that the total advertised weight was 120 lbs, well over the amount I had. Keep this in mind if you are planning on loading them with weight; you may want to have a few extra just for peace of mind. Otherwise, they're absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend them.
