Good for hollow core doors?

I need to install spice racks on the inside of my pantry door. Will these work to anchor the screws in a builder-grade hollow core door?
Asked by: NoVAMom
I dont think the plastic put will dig into the wood of the door. It is designed to use the plastic wall bit to bury itself into the drywall creating a tight hold. The when the metal screw is installed it will make the plastic insert crack open grabbing into the drywall even stronger. Wuou will hear a small crack when inserting the metal screw. That sound is a good thing.

Can I use your E-Z ancor drywall anchor #25310 to hang 4 ft. tubelight fixtures on the ceiling?

My hired electrician did that, and I just want to confirm that is ok.The 2 tube fixtures weigh approximately 12 lbs per the internet link: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Lithonia-Lighting-Wrap-2-Light-Flush-Mounted-White-Multi-Volt-Ballast-Ceiling-Light-LB-2-32-MVOLT-MVIS/202591813?keyword=205CKk So are these ok to use for these tubelight fixtures? thanks.
Asked by: Alan
The weight rating on the package is designed to be in a wall with downward pressure on an item flush mounted. The weight rating is NOT the same in a ceiling with the pressure essentially pulling the anchor out of the ceiling. It states right on the package not to use in the ceiling. Now given the weight of the light fixtures, it will most likely be ok...MOST likely

Works great, key is to drill a pilot hole using something slightly smaller than 1/4" drill bit (approx size of the anchor tip). Disregard what the direction says. Then use a screw driver and manually screw it into the wall. Clean, secured, can't ask for anything more.

I bought your EZ Ancor Twist-N-Lock and it's garbage!!! When I screwed it in the dry wall, it got stuck halfway. Using a screwdriver like they stated, the anchor got stripped/ warped the plastic. It also chipped my paint. It won't go in all the way and it I can't get it out either! I tried calling the contact number listed online, but wtf is 877-ITW-BRANDS? Why is there 9 digits? It should only be 7 digits.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Fragile The anchors broke easily under even modest torque with a hand screwdriver. Though pre-drilling is said to be unnecessary, I found that it was. But even when drilling a full diameter hole, the units fractured easily when the teeth came into contact with the drywall. In the end, half of them broke.

A couple might strip if you don't insert them in good. Also make sure you don't insert them too close to one another. There will be some slight chipping/flaking of your wallboard. Other than that they do the job and support railings, shelves etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from never had a problem with these i cant figure out wha the other reviewers are doing. the one who said they used a hammer? these screw in, why would you use a hammer?? i drill a little pilot hole in the drywall and screw them in. simple. they also have the advantage of being removeable, again, using a simple screwdriver. the tapered design makes them go in easily. i used them to hang some Ikea shleves that look like they float against the wall without any support underneath the shelf, and put books, pictures, etc and no problems. i even have an oscillating 15 pound old fashoined fan on one of them. . . easily 50 pounds altogether. try doing that with a molly bolt, or one of those wing-style anchors. better yet, try to get one of things back out of the wall without ripping out the drywall. these things are my go-to anchor for everything that really needs the strength.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take your time and these are great anchors Like most others, can't really understand the bad reviews. I have installed 200 of these in the past few months. Lessons learned.. 1. Regardless of what the packaging says, pre-drill a hole that is around 1/8 inch or even slightly larger. 2. Then screw the anchor in BY HAND with a screwdriver. The thread will likely strip with a drill or powered screw driver unless you are really careful. Do not over-tighten. 3. Use the included screw or a longer #8 if needed. These have worked very well for me. One does crack once in a while. One final tip, if using in metal stud walls and coming up against a stud, I still pre-drill (a smaller hole just smaller than the screw) then clip off a portion of the end of the anchor and screw it in. This gives extra strength to the screw in the metal stud.

These Twist-N-Lock anchors are probably some of the best ones you could buy if they are installed carefully and correctly. Regardless of what the product says (self-drilling), drill a clean pilot hole with a 1/4" drill bit into the dry wall, then, with a large phillips screwdriver (#3 or #4), slowly and steadily screw the anchor flush into the dry wall. Next, screw the provided screw into the anchor to expand and lock it in. Finally you could unscrew it and reinstall whatever you're trying to hang onto the wall. If you're planning to hang something relatively heavy and it will be staying there for a long time, then I recommend throwing away the free fragile anchors provided with the product and replace them with these E-Z anchors.
