1) Can these be used for a gravel walk? I'm digging up about 25 feet of old, poorly installed gravel walk and laying a new one. It'll be about 4" down. Is this edging enough to handle that? If not, any recommendations?

2) Can this be used with a patio (pavers)? I also need to replace an old gravel patio and want to use something nice.

3) How do you right angle (inside and outside) with this edging? I work with basically just hand tools and power drills. Can a hacksaw or hand cutters do the job?

Thanks!!

Answer:
1) You don't have to dig, Do you have 4" of gravel down? Just clear edges so that you can nail down edging. 2) It is perfect for pavers. 3) Butt edges together and nail down with included nails, I would recommend a sabre saw or mitre saw

Answer:
1) The edge is only about 1.5 inches high so it wouldn't hold 4 inches of gravel in place. You could use a paver base and then put the gravel, held in place by the edging, on top of the base, but I don't have personal experience with doing this.
2) Yes, I think it works great with patio pavers. I used the Brock panel paver base underneath, but you can use other types of base and then put the edging down

I used the Brock panel paver base underneath, but you can use other types of base and then put the edging down so that the top of the E-Z connect edging is at the desired height for the pavers. (I think it's best if it's a little below the tops of the pavers.)
3) It can be cut with a hacksaw.

Right angles are straight forward. To turn an angle with the pavers on the inside, there is enough flexibility to bend it. This reinforces the angle better than cutting. To form a right angle you can either cut and place the edger with its pins or bend it. It cuts with a sheet metal sheer (tin snips) or any saw, but more teeth per inch is better than fewer.
I believe that the tabs should be buried in soil or some other heavy landscape material. I tried mulch. Mulch is OK, but something heavier would be better. Read Less

Answer:
I do not believe that the height is sufficient for this purpose. Use the Model # 95340 5 inch barrier materials instead. This product is designed to hold pavers in place at the edges.

Howdy Lee,
While these can be used in theory, they are only about 1.5 inches high. The proper use of these is for pavers.
To have a good strength for edging, you most likely would want to have about 4 inches.
Happy Edging,

Answer:
I made this small patio to hold my smoker off the main patio. I use paver on noth 90 degree edges with no problem. I did not turn the corner with edger, I went to the edge of each corner and cut straight runs. I did replace plastic stakes with 12 inch steel stales.

Answer:
Will, that is kind of tough to answer. It depends on how think of a layer you want your sand 2", 3" or perhaps sand with some pea stone. I found the Kit very functional, in the fact that you can get away from using any sand at all.

I really don't understand your question. Are you using this product with pavers? 1 to 2 inches are recommended for top level under pavers. I suggest QP a finely crushed rock with packing dust sold the same way sand is sold. Sand will wash away quickly from under paver. I noticed that a lot of You tube videos suggest sand, however most professionals use QP. I recently went looking to pick up sand for a small patio paver job. The office at my local lumber yard took my money and sent me to their yard to load sand. The guy in the yard ask what I was doing with sand and suggest using QP it was the same cost but offered much better results. If I missed the point and you're using Edger for your garden edging, the edger lip is about an inch high. Hope this helps you. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent I got this paver edging for my rose garden This drought we are in it's been hard to find time to try it out This afternoon it was a tiny bit cooler but still very dry Edged my pavement and set this piece in I want to re mulch my rose garden and hope this edging will help to hold it in place when we have heavy rains I think it's going to do the job July 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for curved walkways I really like these interlocking paver edgings and have used them in a lot of landscaping projects. You can use additional stakes that you can buy off the shelf at Home Depot if you want to add more. I used them together with the Brock paver base. Make the paver base a little bit larger so that you can secure the E-Z Connect Edging on top of the base. Then it will be more stable if the ground shifts with frost heave, etc... You wouldn't be able to do that with the type of edging that you insert into the ground. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No dig feature Twenty four feet of edging. Can be used for curved flower beds or tree ringers. It comes with twisted plastic nails to keep it in place. You can use it without digging. I used mine between river pebbles and grass forming a pathway with stepping stones. Just make sure you use plastic nails to hold in place especially if forming curves. comes with connectors for connecting the six four feet sections. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bar none... THE best Paver Edging material Great product. Flexible enough to follow a meandering path yet strong enough to take a pounding when driving in the nails. Snaps together with ease and is a very sturdy joining method. I wouldn't use anything else ever again unless I'm making a square area that requires a very straight edge. And the price is unbeatable for the amount of feet you get out of it. I would recommend this product to a novice as well as any pro. My friend that's been helping me with this project is a handyman, and he said that he never saw this product before and it's worth the 5 day wait to get it delivered. I will be ordering some more for the rest of my project. February 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works fine First impressions: Box of straight plastic edging and a bag of 8-inch plastic stakes. A few plastic section links. Parts seems sturdy enough for light work. Simple instruction sheet. Analysis: The project in my mind isn't really ready to begin because I haven't gotten all the materials (patio blocks), but I intend to use these strips to edge a block floor atop a sand base in my old detached garage (built in 1928). It is now more of a workshop, since modern cars are too large to be accommodated. For now, with only about 30 patio blocks on hand, I chose to temporarily place these down using the edging staked in place. It is soft sand, so it will be easy to remove when the time comes. I put these down about 2 weeks ago and have used the floor and garage every day since them. The blocks seem to be staying in place even though no special work was been done to level and pack down the sand. I suspect this is due to the effects of the edging in keeping the blocks fixed. I will need to buy more kits to do the entire floor. Last week we were hit by a record torrent of rainfall for several days, and the alley behind the garage was under about one foot of water. Even though the floor was under water for a few days, none of the blocks shifted significantly in position. I have not yet had to use the plastic links to connect sections together, so can't comment on their performance. The plastic edging sections are flexible, but not so much to be able to use in a very curved decorative manner. Please note that one of the images shows the stakes and instruction sheets for two different kits (one flex and one rigid). The rigid one referenced by this review is enclosed in a red box. Summary: Simple flat-edging solution. Fairly sturdy pieces. Stakes adequate for most uses, but maybe not for heavy duty support. Adds significant support to patio block flooring. August 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for pavers! I need a step down from my patio to the yard. It start as a small platform and grew and grew! I settled at a four foot by eight foot step and my wife is happy. I plan to buy more to use it for edging my flower beds. Good product easy to work with and I like the no digging feature. May 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No frills option that delivers This is a no frills product: Plastic edging strips with 8 inch plastic stakes. Nothing fancy just the basics. I used this to edge a small section of pavers- was creating a "landing strip" for trash and recycling cans. I wasn't doing anything fancy- just a basic square shaped, but these worked well for the purpose. Best features: - Sturdy (though plastic the strips have a good heft to them) - Versatile - Easy to use/install Can't speak to durability (had them roughly 6 months) but so far, so good. January 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy connect paver edging I ordered four more boxes of the easy connect paver edging to finish the pathways in my garden. My pathways look amazing and my garden look beautiful. I have had so many compliments on my garden. The product really is easy to use if you want to make a meandering path. You can use it to make straight edges but you have to have a good eye to make sure the lines are straight. If not you may have to use a combination of this product along with the straight rigid paver borders. I was able to complete my whole project with this product. March 27, 2013
