Experience has taught me that a residential-grade power tool will last 3 to 5 years. Checking internet reviews, and combined experience with an Echo leaf blower, this was the choice.
It's also a great way to exercise upper body--about 20 minutes of trimming leads to exhaustion, followed by an hour of cleanup,

I have been using Stihl HT 101/131 pole pruners for over ten years. Always had problems(bent shafts, lack of power, shaft separation mid-cut, and the list goes on). My new Echo hands down is stronger than Stihl pruner in every area. Two year commercial warranty gives me peace iIMG_5101.JPGn my mind should something happen. Also got the 4 ft extension for ppt266h. Boy, this pole saw trims like no other. I am very pleased. The saw paid for itself in less than two days. My Echo PPT 266H will be my bread and butter for many years to come.

Everything about this product is "5 Star" except the shoulder strap. Other than that it's a great machine. But the shoulder strap stinks.

I bought this pruner to cut back brush on my property, Mainly invasive autumn olive and c allay pear that grew from old nursery stock roots. It works great to reach undr both and cut them off without crawling under them with a regular saw. Sturdy build, plenty of power, and it starts easily.

this is a high quality pole saw, the harness system isn't worth a flip, not useful at all. the machine is very heavy with full extension and the way that so called harness attach's isn't any help at all. i am not a spring chicken anymore and it will wear you out pretty fast. overall the saw is execellent but engineering on the harness needs some serious help. it would help if attachment area was a little farther away from the power head.

I just purchased this echo pole pruner last month,I have just used this particular unit once and it started right up and performed amazing, but have used the D handle one plenty of times , I chose the unit because of the trimmer style handle , to me it was easier to use than the D handled unit , the handle is easier to work with at certain angles, I'd recommend echo to any landscaper because it will hold up over time & or to any elder because of how easy their products start, echo has amazing products period.

The PPT-266H pole pruner is very sturdy and easy to use. It has excellent reach at just over 12ft and with the option of a 4ft extension gives it even more versatility.
I had a smaller homeowner split shaft pole pruner from a different company which just couldn't quite handle the usage (gears wore out) and even though that one was half the size it wasn't as easy to balance as the echo is. I will say the echo is a little weighty but not unreasonable.
So far the only thing I would ask echo to change is the switch it really would be nice to have one that resets instead of sliding on and off but that obviously isn't a deal breaker on this nice saw.
