Rated 5 out of 5Â by Wolfie Great Lightweight Saw!!!
This is a great little saw! We had a major ice storm and I had many downed trees. I bought this mainly because I don't plan on becoming a "lumberjack" so a 14" blade was plenty big enough to get the job done. A 14" will handle a tree 28" thick, and I don't have those. I'm an 62 yr old woman, and I had no problems starting or handling the saw at all. It worked all afternoon and never had a single problem with it! Great saw!! I only wish it had come with a covering for the bar & chain. I worry about someone brushing up against it and cutting themselves or it falling off the shelf and ruining the bar.

Would never know it only has a 30.5cc engine. Cuts through wood like a hot knife through butter. Love this saw. Put on a 16" Oregon bar and chain for larger diameter trees and works great. Easily felled and cut up a 18" diamater maple tree. Over three months have owned, probably used 30-40 hours and cut down/up 30-40 trees. The saw never fails to start quickly, idles smoothly, and clearly is built with quality. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SAW. BTW, grew up on 2.5 acres and used a Stihl 032 with my Dad as a kid. This thing holds its own with the "big" saws. Prior to buying this saw, bought a refurbished Husqvarna 445 and it was a complete piece of junk. Worked a couple of hours and then died. Despite much larger engine, give the edge to Echo on cutting speed (not to mention reliability and price!)

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Meriwether Works very well
I needed a homeowner chainsaw. I swore off 2-cycle power equipment a long time ago (I even have a Honda 4-cycle string trimmer), so I first tried the Ryobi electric. Not good. The last chainsaw I owned was a Stihl, 15 years ago when I did a lot of chainsaw work. I could not justify the cost. This Echo is every bit as good as that Stihl. The quick start instructions said to choke, then pull up to 5 times, then unchoke and pull up to 5 times to start. 2 pulls under choke and it was ready. 1 pull and started. Works very well. You can tell it's running, but quieter than most. Fumes aren't bad either, I didn't smell like a refinery after using it for a couple of hours. Highly recommended.

Just purchased 2 days ago. Followed the QuickStart instructions, then used the saw ALL DAY to
drop dead standing Lodgepole Pine trees. Then cut all those to one foot pieces. Mostly 10-12" diameter trees.
Started and worked PERFECTLY. No Leaks. It uses about twice as much Bar Oil as the
gas mixture, so you want to keep an eye on the bar Oil levels when in use.

I bought this saw yesterday. Let me start with the good. It had plenty of power, I don't think you will find another $200 with more. Now to the bad the chain started jumping after about 10 minutes of cutting. The chain guard that is provided might fix this. I refuse to use a chain guard I want to be able to cut with the end of the chain. Out of the box it started right up and went to work, I used it for about 20 minutes Saturday evening, I came back Sunday afternoon and it took forever to start. I read the reviews about this, and tried choke, no choke, and the chain stop. I finally got it started and went to work I cut one small tree and the chain jumped. After I fixed the chain it took 25 pulls to start. While reading the reviews I though the people complaining about how long it took to start just didn't know what they were talking about, I may have been wrong about that since I have blisters from starting the dang thing. Oh and I am 32 so I also thought maybe they were old guys that couldn't pull it hard enough for that I appologize to the other reviewers. If you don't mind using a chain guard, and don't mind pulling the cord a bunch then this is the saw for you. I'm not sure you can find a better one for the price so I gave it three stars.
