This saw is small in size but big in power. It compares almost exactly to the Stihl MS 201T/200T (similar cc's, weight, quality) but is about $150-$200 less. (By the way, Home Depot's spec page on this saw has at least one mistake: the saw does NOT weigh over 12 lbs.--it is closer to 7-8 lbs.).As a practicing commercial arborist of 17+ years who works aloft every day, I can attest to the quality and toughness of this saw, as I have used it daily for the past 6 months in all kinds of weather: rain, snow, ice, etc. Like a famous battery's bunny, this saw takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'! I am both an ISA Certified Arborist and TCIA CTSP. One note/reminder: Even though this saw is touted as a top-handled saw, that does NOT mean that it should be used one-handed; it should still be used with a secure TWO-handed grip, as should ALL saws. Final assessment: I'm impressed enough with this saw that I plan to buy another one soon.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by FarmBell WOW what a saw
I bought my first professional ECHO chain saw in 1974. I'd still be using it if someone hadn't wanted it more than I (had to go through a locked door and a locked bin). I replaced it with this top handle saw but was hesitant because it was different from the rear handle saw I had been using in the tree for almost 40 years. It is even better than the original in the tree. I'm teaching my grandson to climb and he loves the saw, too!

I bought this a month ago and put it to the test the first week. I got in over my head on a job and this saw saved me. Due to a bad chain on my big saw i ended up taking down a 60' tall pine with this saw. 32" at the stump, it can be done just not ideal and alot to type out, have pictures and 3 eye witnesses if you doubt it can be done. Saw performed amazing, ive had previous Husky top handles and this blows them away. So good for the money, so good period.
Cutting a 32" stump: Cut notch from both sides, bore in from one side and work saw around whole tree placing wedge in back as you get past it, bore in from front of notch to clear out wood in middle the 14" bar couldn't reach. Smack wedge and down it went. I would not have believed it if i hadnt done it myself, took 15 minutes.

I am not a arborist so this saw is a bit extravagant but who cares? I love this little saw. The big husqvarna is collecting dust.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by bass1 Very good saw for the money
Have owned echo and stihl top handle chainsaws, this saw meets all of my expectations and home depot had it for the lowest price of any retailer. The chain that comes with saw is not that great, person would be better advised to buy a pre-stretched chain.
