Why is this chainsaw more expensive at Home Depot?

Why is this saw (Echo CS-355T) priced $100 higher here than on Echo's USA website?? Home Depot shows $459 vs $359 at Echo, yet Home Depot is listed as an Echo dealer on Echo's website.

I wanted to know that also.... that is the list price..... which means that is suppose to be the manufacturers retail price usually you can find item for less than the msrp... not more??? I've been using chainsaws for over forty years... use to use the poulans for climbing saws for years used the stihls.. also but they charge too much been using several models of the top handled echos been happy with them all and their warranty kicks stihls butt (at least the last time I looked at it)

16 in. 35.8cc Gas Chainsaw is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from CS-355T, Excellent Value I purchased this saw for in tree work. Reasons being the price, weight, power, and features compared to other brands sold locally. A five year warranty is a bonus. I have used it to cut about half of a cord of firewood(locust, ash, and oak) to this date. Nothing larger than 8" diameter and the saw ran like a big saw, not an problems. I can see myself using this saw to do more ground work than originally planned. I have several other saws. The ergonomics of this top handle arborist saw are very comfortable and functional. The saw used less than a tank of fuel and oil to cut this amount of wood. I have yet to try it while in a tree.

Pros: * lightweight * comfortable * strong/fast saw that handles oak well Cons: * hard to start when cold * poor factory setup * oiler clogs quickly Got this saw last month. The initial setup/breakin was rocky. First start took about about 30min of hauling on the cord to get it to fire up. Stock settings according to the manual. Once it started I had to kill it and adjust the idle screw way back, it has a short taper and was on full blast by default, the brake started smoking right away. Low/Hi mix settings need adjusting as the default (should be rich for break-in) is pretty lean. Once past that the saw runs well, revvs up fast and cuts through oak and cedar without issue. It's light and easy to handle when I'm up in the branches. Biggest complaint after running for a while though is the oiler gets clogged easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good little saw Just purchased this while my CS-346 was down for repairs. Spent a weekend in a boom lift trimming live oaks and palm trees and put 6 tanks through the 355T. I couldn't be happier with this little guy. I dropped everything from 12" live oak limbs to Washington Palm fronds and seed pods. For me it's an ideal pruning saw with an 18" low profile bar. I don't consider this or any top handle as a ground saw. If you aren't working in the air or overhead, I would recommend a rear handle saw. Did the muffler mod after the weekend and now it screams like a banshee...looking forward to the fall trim. ps..if the 346 is toast, I won't hesitate to replace it with the 361P (same powerhead)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of power I had to take this saw to the shop 4 days after I got it because it would not crank after approximately 1.5 hrs of run time. Turns out the factory did not properly set the air gap on the coil. After being fixed under warranty (by the way I received this saw as a replacement for a CS-330T under warranty). Robison Outdoor Power in Nacogdoches Tx is a new saw shop in the area but is by far the best saw shop I have ever used. Echo has stood behind their products and their warranty. This saw has plenty of power and nice weight and balance to it. If your looking for a light weight saw with plenty of power this saw is for you. I recommend this saw to professionals arborist and residents looking to trim limbs and trees aroundo the house

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CS355T for tough little saw I bought this saw 2 weeks ago when my Stihl 026 needed repairs & I had work that needed to continue. This saw is also smaller & lighter that a rear-handle saw & therefore less tiring to use when the job doesn't call for a larger saw. I had previously owned an Echo CS300T that was a very good saw. The ONLY problem I have is that Echo does NOT make a suitable ToughCase for these small top-handle saws. The smallest ToughCase is still 4 inches too long in scabbard & the box is ⅓ larger than necessary. We NEED cases for these arborist saws!
