Answer:
Great question, don. Yes, either 4AH or 2AH batteries will work with this 58v chainsaw. As long as you have a 58v Echo battery, the amperage will not matter. Just keep in mind that using a 4AH battery will give you a little more power and run time than the 2AH battery.

Answer:
The mower will take two batteries but one is in stand by mode and isn't used by the mower. You just take a plug out and turn it over and replug and the other battery is then utilized. You only need one battery to run mower.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by all doubts removed saw is a little heavy - has virtually the same power as the 2 stroke unit previously used - any homeowner looking for a 16" saw should consider - i will stick with the ECHO 58V line as I begin to replace old and worn out lawn equipment October 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Total satisfaction What a delight to use and it does everything they said. Gas engines are now obsolete. Drop in the battery, pull the trigger and go. My only fear is I will forget to check the bar oil. Easy to use, powerful, buy one. September 13, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Stops every four seconds Bought a year ago. Used sparingly around the house. Returned the first one because it shut off after a few minutes. The second one keeps shutting off. It will start again after a few seconds. Battery fully charged. Not hot. Frustrating, I now wish I'd bought gas powered. October 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cuts so well! I had heard so many things about this chainsaw but couldn't have imagined how much better it was than what I had heard. Buy this product! July 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent power & QUIET!! I bought this saw over other brands and models. I haven't been DISAPPOINTED YET. In 1 day I cut 16 wheelbarrows of wood. I am a experienced wood cutter, I used this saw to cut stuff a gas saw would. QUIET! I used it to limb and cut most of a 45' pear tree 2 days ago, over my gas saw. Like the quietness of it. Getting 2 more batteries and charger so I can cut longer and use it more than gas saws. In (cold) winter use 0w to10w motor oil. In summer I use mix of 30w and regular bar oil. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice saw Relatively light weight saw. Cuts are clean and quick. Used battery that was included with my string trimmer (4AH). Battery lasted longer than I expected. Only problem is that it would cut off at times if the saw was stressed too much. When I didn't push it too hard to make the cut, and made sure to not cant the angle, it was fine. That said, while this is not a professional-level saw, it is more than adequate for a DIYr/homeowner. It will easily cut down and de-branch several medium size trees on one charge (and the battery is quick to recharge). Plus, the ease of just sliding in the battery and pulling the trigger to make the cuts makes it more than worth the money! No pulling, no gas, no mixing and no smell! Perfect! That said, if you are a rancher, have a large number of trees to cut on a regular basis, or are away from a power source, I'd keep a gas saw handy. October 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All the power you need, no fussing with gas/oil A great tool with lots of power, auto oiler doesn't leak like so many saws. Battery has really good runtime. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] May 7, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by WORST Purchase Ever Echo needs to wake up and get with the program. I ordered a 16 inch Echo cordless chainsaw because I need 16 inches of bar to get all of my Viburnum hedges. I measured the bar as soon as the chainsaw arrived at my door. The bar is only 13.5 inches! Uhm.,..Echo, did you really think that no one would ever measure the bar? The funny part is that with regards to proportionality, if you look at the picture on the website - the bar's length seems to concur with what might be 16 inches when compared to the overall length of the chainsaw body. As soon as I got the chainsaw I knew that there was something wrong and that I was in trouble. I returned it to the store and wound up buying a greenworks 18 inch. When it arrives at my house I will measure it as well and if it is not 18 inches IT IS GOING BACK AS WELL. DO WHAT YOU SAY. Ron October 11, 2015
