I use this oil in all of my two stroke products (regardless if they are Echos or not) and it works well. It is easy to mix and does it's job lubricating the cylinder. It doesn't smoke or smell bad when burned. I recommend this for use with all 2 stroke products.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MowerMan Very good all purpose 2-cycle oil
I never go the cheap route when buying 2-cycle oil for my equipment and have always been pleased with Echo brand (and Stihl). For a homeowner that typically replaces gas-powered 2-cycle lawn equipment every few years, cheaper off-brand oil may suffice, but why not potentially increase the lifespan of your equipment for pennies more per gallon of mix? Your engine will thank you.
I currently have an Echo SRM trimmer in rotation that is 15-20 years old and still runs like new (starts every time within 3 pulls). I attribute its longevity to the use of high quality oil and my personal maintenance schedule (I need my equipment to be extremely reliable):
1.New spark plug: every year ($3)
2.Compression test: every year (free- if you own a compression gauge or can borrow one)
3.New carburetor and engine gasket kit: every 3-5 years depending on how the equipment starts/runs at the end of each season and whether any leaks are visible ($12)
4.New fuel lines and fuel filter: every year ($5)
5.Clean the exhaust, spark arrestor, and exhaust port: every year (maybe $1 worth of acetone)
6.Inspect/grease the gearbox and drive shaft on trimmers and edgers: every year (maybe $1-2 worth of grease and shop rags)
7.Clean or replace the air filter: every year at minimum, more often during dry and dusty summers (free-$5 depending on the type of filter)- foam filters can be cleaned with some Dawn dish soap and hot water, just make sure it's completely dry before using it again. Rub a few drops of 2-cycle oil into a clean and dry foam filter before reinstalling. Cotton-style air filters get replaced ($5)
8.Check for, and tighten, loose hardware- screws, nuts, bolts, handles, throttle linkage, guard shields, etc: periodically throughout the season (free)
9. Clean debris (grass, dirt, saw dust, etc.) from around the engine casing to prevent over-heating: as necessary (free)
^ I do all of the above (preventative) maintenance during the winter months so that my equipment can run hard all spring, summer, and fall with very minimal downtime. This applies to 2-cycle string trimmers, edgers, blowers, chain saws, hedge pruners, augers, etc.
Also, the prices I mentioned above are my average cost of the parts and supplies only, not labor. If DIY maintenance isn't an option for you, always ask the repair shop for a quote up front.
Obviously, my maintenance schedule is only based on what works for me and would be overkill for equipment used once a week or less (homeowner). However, I figure that anyone reading a review of 2-cycle oil might not mind a few pointers on things to check that may keep their equipment running strong for years to come. Even most "budget" equipment can have a respectable lifespan if given periodic TLC; I have rescued several trimmers and mowers for friends and family over the years that would have been headed to the curb otherwise. In most cases, the typical repairs ranged from cleanings, adjustments, or less than $20 in parts. Treat your equipment well and it will return the favor :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Allen Excellent product
I have used Echo Power Blend oil for years and it has always preformed very well in all seasons. It is a clean burning oil unlike Husqvarna oils that contain a lot of ash that plugs exhaust ports and mufflers.
A lot of problems people have are from mixing this oil to rich (more than 2.6 oz to 1 gallon of fuel). To much and you will lose power and loss of performance. Second problem people is they do not know that this oil is JASO rated FD oil. It is not compatible with other non JD rated oils and will destroy the pistons, cylinders and carbs on equipment if it is mixed with other oils. Found this out the hard way when I purchased a new SRM280 trimmer. The dealer mistakenly filled the fuel tank with fuel from the wrong jug when they did the initial start up when I purchased it. It ran good until I filled the tank with fuel mixed with Power Blend oil. After three tanks had been ran through the trimmer the engine seized up. The results from ECHO were that the two different JASO rated oils were not compatible thus causing the engine to seize. ECHO replaced the engine and Carb under warranty without a single problem since it was the dealers fault. I have since ran approx 5 to 6 gallons of fuel through the trimmer using nothing but Power Blend oil and I have not experienced the first problem so far. The engine starts easily, runs strong and the spark plugs have always been clean when inspected.
I highly recommend this oil.

For all the negative reviewers, mix fresh with 89 octane and stop using old mixed fuel! I discard after 3 months... I'm a chemical operator, gasoline loses it's volitility, oil will separate, and old mix without stabilizer will attract moisture... Works very well with minimal smoke.

I've been using this echo power blend in my echo srm 225 since new. I also use it in my leaf blower and have never had an issue. Properly measure the oil at 2.6 oz to 1 gallon of premium gas and you will have great results. I don't buy 'discount' gas for my equipment..either shell, Mobil, chevron..etc, are good fuels to make premix, not fuels from a grocery store, and such places.

This product made my echo blower and weed wacker bog down. It clogged up the spark arestor and i was using the correct mix ratio and running machine at high power. I switched to stihl hp ultra and im very happy with that product.
