I was excited to have something to suck up all the leaves in my yard. However, the first time using it i my feet started getting shocked. I couldn't figure it out. I googled it and discovered that some power vac's will cause static shock wile sucking up leaves and you should wear rubber gloves and thick sole rubber shoes. That helped some, but didn't eliminate the problem. My biggest issue with the unit is that it quit working after five times and Echo did not warranty it. Ridiculous! I used the oil they recommended and always fresh fuel mixture. When I called Echo to ask what to do, they referred me to a local small engine repair facility. When the shop called Echo and told them that the spark plug was bad. Echo told them that it wasn't covered under warranty (it's only covered 30 days). So, I asked the shop tech what would cause the plug to go bad after just a few uses and he said that it was likely that the carburetor wasn't working right or adjusted correctly from the factory. When I called Echo and told them this they still wouldn't help me. So at least the shop just charged me 20 bucks for plug and carburetor adjustment to make up for Echo's lack/refusal of responsibility.

WOW! I bought this mainly for the Vac, since I have some Oak trees in my yard that loose soooo many leaves in the fall. I wanted something heavy duty because along with the leaves, the squirrels leave a few empty acorns on the ground and when all get ralked up together, they get picked up by the vac as well. 2 summers into this now. the fan blades are still going strong, even with all the acorns going through. The bag is probably the weakest link in this chain and possibly why the sell it seperate. The bag holds well with the velcro strap and empties fairly easy. Changing back and forth from Vac to Blower is also fairly simple, with the only a single latch to pop loose to change plastic nozzles. Starting this thing is a breeze. Sometimes, makes me feel quilty when I see my neighbors struggling with other brands. Pump up the primer, Set the Choke, pull once or twice, go to half choke and starts ever time 2nd or 3rd pull.

Easy starting. Is quieter than the homelite that it replaced. Blows good. Just a pleasure to operate. Very good quality machine.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BillyKay Sorry I bought this
The bag is very difficult to attach - sometimes it takes 15 minutes - it often blows off in use and I have to start over attaching it. Customer service was useless.

I've only used one other vac, however in thinking about what I would really like this product still falls short. It claims an all metal mulching blade - well sure, there's a little metal blender at the core of the fan blade that I'm sure helps, BUT - the main impeller is still plastic so I don't have much faith the little sticks will steer themselves right at the middle metal bit and stay away from the 80% plastic area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fishfinder I like my new Echo
It took me forever to finally break down and get a new blower. This one is great with its ability to both blow leaves and vacuum them up. The 5 year warranty says that Echo stands behind their products. I also spent the extra $ on a 2 year HD extended warranty. That gives me 7 years of insurance. Gotta love it! I ordered this online and it was here in no time with free shipping. Could not find it anywhere online at a cheaper price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dmac Excellent value for price, much quieter and more powerful than previous blower
Easy to assemble and start, much quieter than my previous Poulan, although that unit was pushing 20 years old. Recent purchase of an Echo string trimmer and good reviews for this product sealed the deal.
