Is the impellar plastic or metal?

Asked by: John
Metal for the most part. Plastic on the very ends.

Where is the opening to empty the bag. Is it at the back so can be emptied into leaf bag easily?

Asked by: Anonymous
The bag is kind of long and narrow, with a zipper at the end. I find that the leaves get stuck in there. The zipper should have been put on the bottom instead.

165 MPH 391 CFM Gas Shredder Vacuum is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 243.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad warranty and shocking experience I was excited to have something to suck up all the leaves in my yard. However, the first time using it i my feet started getting shocked. I couldn't figure it out. I googled it and discovered that some power vac's will cause static shock wile sucking up leaves and you should wear rubber gloves and thick sole rubber shoes. That helped some, but didn't eliminate the problem. My biggest issue with the unit is that it quit working after five times and Echo did not warranty it. Ridiculous! I used the oil they recommended and always fresh fuel mixture. When I called Echo to ask what to do, they referred me to a local small engine repair facility. When the shop called Echo and told them that the spark plug was bad. Echo told them that it wasn't covered under warranty (it's only covered 30 days). So, I asked the shop tech what would cause the plug to go bad after just a few uses and he said that it was likely that the carburetor wasn't working right or adjusted correctly from the factory. When I called Echo and told them this they still wouldn't help me. So at least the shop just charged me 20 bucks for plug and carburetor adjustment to make up for Echo's lack/refusal of responsibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT MACHINE!! Ever since I purchased my echo trimmer, I liked everything echo offers. I read a lot of reviews on this ES-250 and went ahead and bought it. It starts easily and looks good the only thing I would change on this machine would be the blower attachments, it's really hard to take apart. I haven't been able to pull it apart got tired of it and left it alone. I don't like how the fan is on the side where I hold it because I'm right handed so it pulls my shirt as I'm using the blower function. But other than those 2 things I really like it. Wouldn't think of getting any other brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bang for buck The unit is a little bit underpowered, and it's kind of bulky and heavy, that being said the mulch feature Works fantastic a little bit underpowered though, nice bag keep you clean Leaf dust, the thing runs for hours on end, just keeps going, like all echo products, it's the best built thing going. Blows the husq away, not as good as the stihl, that cost twice as much. I would highly recommend this thing. The air filter as well as very well-designed it doesn't clog up even after hours of use mulching leaves like the other brands do it was truly built to last forever. It even started frozen stiff the other day after a 10 degree night, guess what the other two, husq, stihl. Did not it is the best bang for your buck I just wish it had a little bit more power

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great I bought this blower because I have an echo string trimmer I bought two years ago and am happy with it. Most all gas powered equipment requires you to prime choke and pull 20 times before it will start, the biggest feature I look at. With echo, prime it, choke it, pull 3 or 4 times and it starts. I used it this fall 4-5 times blowing my massive amount of leaves. It worked great and I have no complaints. I have not used the mulching feature so I cannot comment on it. Happy so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works very well I have only used the blower vac 4-5 times this season, but it has worked great each time I've used it. I have only been using the non-ethanol echo canned fuel and the machine has started up after on the first pull every time. The blower function is good and not great which is why I gave it 4 stars. It has trouble moving a large pile of leaves, but in this price range, I guess it's what I should expect. The vac portion of the machine is awesome! I mainly got the blower/vac because we use leaves in our compost and on top of our garden beds. When the leaves are dry, it shreds them up very nicely. If they are damp, the shredding isn't as great and are not ideal for composting. There isn't really much of an issue switching between blower and vac and it only requires a screwdriver for the conversion. It would be nice for there to be a button release, but I can live with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than sweeping My wife gave me this blower for my birthday and I started it up the other day. It started right up. That's one of the reasons that I buy Echo is because they always start if you take care of them. This is my third Echo tool where I started with an edger about 20 years ago and it still runs great. I haven't had a chance to use the shredder yet but I'm sure it's fine. It sure beats a broom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I've had this blower for about a month or so and have used it several times. Love how easy it is to start, the light weight and low vibration. I only wish I had ditched the corded blower years more stopping to wrangle the 100' extension cord or change outlets! Also, while it may not be the most powerful blower (a back-pack blower it is not), it definitely gets the job done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great Took a chance on this product, because i like the operation of my echo weed eater. The price, the 5 year warranty, and the fact that it came with all attachments needed, was a deciding factor. I used the leaf blower/vacuum right out of the box. Started with ease, all accessories fit good. Made short work out of a yard full of leaves.
