What is the difference between the model PB-250 and PB-250LN ?

According the ECHO, the model PB-250LN is 3 dB quieter than the previous model PB-250, however, when I look up all the component parts on the ECHO website they appear to be the same. What if anything did ECHO change to get the 3 dB reduction in sound level ?
Asked by: Supertool
I found the PB-250LN to be a newer version with some enhancements to the engine and exhaust system, it is also easier to start.

Customer Reviews

165 mph 391 CFM 2-Cycle Gas Low Noise Handheld Blower is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 1053.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Power! Easy to Start! I purchased the PB-250LN Blower a couple of weeks ago. The primary use will be to blow leaves from my yard. I have several large oak trees that drop huge amounts of leaves in the fall. The Echo blower blasted through these leaves with no problem whatsoever. I am very impressed with the airspeed that this blower produces. Another thing I really like is how easy it is to start. A couple of pulls and it is fired up. I also have an Echo weed eater, and it starts just as easy. Overall, I am extremely happy with the Echo products I have. I would not hesitate to purchase another. Perhaps a new Echo chainsaw is calling my name!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I personally have 6 different types of Echo equipment and have had great results from all of them. I have also purchased several Echo products for the University that I work for, and have never had a problem with any of them. I would not hesitate about buying another Echo product. Echo would be hands down my first choice out of all the other major brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my ECHO tools i recently bought a ECHO power blower to add with my ECHO chain saw and ECHO weed eater .i have used ECHO weed eater for approx 7 years . is a most realiable tool . this is why i purchased the chain saw last year and the blower this year . dependable and a great warrently plus afforadable price .my first weed eater would of still been running but i fell with it in a creek and was sumerged in muddy water . i just got around to having it repaired as i am sure it will still continue to operate once a new carb is installed . i am very happy with my few ECHO tools i have and will continue to purchase ECHO lawn and garden tools thank you for your fine products

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to start, less down time. I purchased this Echo blower a few weeks back, as the Husqvarna model I had for 5 years exceeded the cost of replacement. The Husqvarna was extremely hard to start, and sometimes wouldn't run when needed. I need dependable equipment for a lawn service I own, and needed reliability I've grown to rely on with Echo. My String trimmer (260 model) is approaching 10 years old, but extremely reliable, and always starts to finish the jobs. This PB-250LN has a terrific 25 cc engine that starts within two pulls! What an improvement, and is miserly on fuel. I know I will have many years of use, and will only buy Echo products from here on. PWB

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this blower this fall. The Sales Rep. happened to be at the store when I was looking at gas blowers. He gave me the full description of this product, maintaining it for the warranty coverage and every other basic operational overview. It was everything he promised and much more. Easy to use and maintain. Great quality equipment. I am going back in Spring to purchase this same brand gas trimmer. Having the Sales Rep. present was great. He answered every question I had with proficient, easy to follow answers. He truly believed in this company and their products. After my first use, I knew why, great, well made, quality merchandise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect Right out of the box added gas/oil mix set choke, primed as directed, switch to run a steady pull & we are up and running, I did not rev to max as engine was new but even then the volume and air speed proved ample to move even damp leaves from my St Augustines grass, once on a hard surface the power could be easily controlled to sweep leaves into a pile for transfer to a composter, excellent! The only reason I have not granted 5 star rating was a problem that seems to plague all hand held blowers, being right handed when using blower with a relaxed arm the air intake tends to get blocked by my trousers this I feel is a design fault, this also puts the starter pull above the gas filler. but at the end of the day I would not trade my Echo for any other brand!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Product-will last for years!! These Echo blowers really last!! My Echo PB-1000 that was a gift from my father in 1989 just recently quit running. The coil went out. 28 years it lasted and I don't even remember doing anything but cleaning the air filter and spark plug. I looked into buying a coil and just keep her going but the cost did not justify repairing it. So I looked at other brands of blowers and thought, why would I change brands if the last blower lasted 28 years??? If they run that long, I'm buying another!! So I bought a new PB-250LN. Just fired it up yesterday and have to say it started right up and is very quiet. The air volume seems to be about the same as my old PB-1000. Echo continues to build a quality product and I am a happy customer. I hope this blower lasts 28 years like my last one did. Thanks, Echo !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Operate, Lightweight, Quiet I have owned this blower for a month now, used it constantly due to 4 massive oak trees in my yard. This blower starts easily on the second pull, has plenty of power to move large piles of dry leaves. Not a problem to carry around for an hour or more being it only weights about 8 lbs. I tote it up a ladder to blow out the gutters, thru the house to get to the deck. It has enough power to clear leaves in mulch at idle as not to blow the mulch around, then at full throttle will clear a 10ft path. Not the best at removing acorns from grass, but what is? I was a little concerned about the offset hose being able to counteract the gyro rotation forces, but it really works! Very satisfied with my purchase, I own an Echo trimmer that got on my 18th Birthday (19 years ago) that still starts on the second pull so I know that Echo is reliable and worth the extra cost.
