Customer Questions & Answers

what is the line rotation direction

Always clockwise.

Do any of these weed echo weed eaters have a wire trimmer instead of string?

I have to trim thick grassy stalks by the river and this string breaks off continuously.
Asked by: Anonymous
I found the Echo brand line that came with my unit to be less than adequate against the thick, and sometimes woody, stems of the weeds/scrub that grows in my swail ditch, which is about 6-10' wide and 300' long. I use 'Arnold Extreme Professional Grade Trimmer Line' and go through about three pairs per session; but I carry a pocket full of spares in case I get too confident/impatient or hit the sharp edge of a rock. The combination of a flexible core with more rigid cutting edges seems to work very well for me.

Can I replace the trimmer head or do I need to buy a whole new attachment?

Asked by: lapdogs3
Yes, all Echo heads interchange and most of the off brands do also.

i have a srm-210 straight shaft about 5 or more years old motors find will this attachment fit my straight shaft. how would that extra shaft length be

connected to my shaft if it fits
Asked by: jack
Unfortunately, the SRM-210 is designed for use as a trimmer only and cannot be converted to accept any attachments other than a blade. This ECHO PAS Attachments are compatible with the PAS models only.

17 in. Rapid Loader Attachment is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money I started out with the curved shaft trimmer attachment and was very disappointed... The rapid Loader head would not hold any size or type of cord... I decided to up grade to the straight shaft attachment and it even came with a speed feed head on it. It is made more "commercial" and seems to be built to last compared to the curved shaft.. with the speed feed head you can load 12 ft. of cord in approx. 30 seconds.. dont waste your money on the curved shaft... spend the extra and get this attachment. It is well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definite Homeowner Recommended Picked this attachment up for a PAS-265 that I recently purchased with the edger to start edging our yard. I was trying to decide between the old style wind up the line trimmer vs the rapid loader and after one trim of the front & back yards I can safely say I am happy with this purchase. I only had to change line about 4 times and that was more because the first couple times I didn't pull the line from the outside once in the rapid loader to be sure it was tightly caught (I recommend doing this if you use larger line as the first couple times I didn't, one line flew out immediately from the head). For me, this is 10x better than our old Homelite trimmer as I hated having to take the head off and wind up more line. Also, I am using .155 line (bought a package of it and cut it to the 8" lengths with a wire cutters) which is about as thick as you can get at the local HD or use with this head. It works great because it is so thick, but you do have to be careful around fences or anything you don't want to cut down as the thicker line/powerful engine will "pull" your trimmer right into something if you aren't careful (I did take out a couple lawn divots this first time around). Also, the line can get a little jammed in the head with all the grass flying around in there so it wasn't always easy to pull the line through to change one, but I was able to work it back and forth a couple times to free it and haven't had to actually get a tool to get it out so far. Not having the line break is a plus for me with the bigger size. I can understand if a professional doing multiple lawns a day may want the larger amount of line/fewer changes with the wind up style head, but for a homeowner this rapid loader is definitely the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied with this Attachment This was my first attachment for the PAS-230. It works very well with the .095" string trimmer line. I have a flagstone patio that tends to cut the line at high speeds and found that if I run the trimmer at a lower speed, I can get more life out of the line. You have to cut the line into lengths to use with this head. I have a 22K sf lawn and can get the entire lawn trimmed with about 4 pairs of cut lines. Changing out the line is quick and easy and in 3 months of use, I have yet to have to resort to mechanical means to remove the line from the head. Perhaps 1 in 8 line changes, the line will be tightly wedged and I have to work at it a bit to remove the spent line from the head. However, buy pushing from the outside of the head and pulling from the inside, I've never been unable to remove the line. Typically, it takes 20 seconds to replace the two cut lines. At around $65, this is one of the cheapest attachments for the PAS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to my PAS system. Product is exactly what I was hoping for. Occasionally have to use needle nose if line breaks at head, but far easier than auto-feed systems I've used in the past. The more I use the PAS system, the happier I am with the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as designed. Solid product. Great product. It works as I wanted, easy to load wire. The Echo branded wire lasts as well. I have a small yard and didn't need to put new wire in at all for two sessions of trimming/edging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great This trimmer handles thick grass and weeds. I really like the rapid loader feature which uses 2 individual strings (easy to put in new ones) as opposed to using a bump-feed reel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product If you want a trimmer get this. Stop using your neighbors and breaking their stuff. Get this and show off, maybe throw a few hip thrusts their way while using it and then when they ask to borrow yours, just say, No, get your own.
