Answer:
The ECHO 17 in. Rapid Loader Attachments for the PAS series are equipped with a gear reducing gear case which converts the drive shaft rotation from clockwise to counter-clockwise. The gear reducing gear case converts the high engine speed to low end torque needed to cut through heavy grass and or saplings.

There are several different thicknesses of cord that you can get for your weed eater. The thickest cord will cut most anything if you run your motor at full speed. If that will not do it there is a saw blade attachment you can purchase that should do the trick. I have both the trimmer and the saw blade attachments. Answer:
The Rapid Loader is not designed for use with wire, however ECHO does offer line sizes from .080 - .155. The .155 in. diameter line can be used on units with engine displacements larger than 25 cc’s.

Unfortunately, the SRM-210 is designed for use as a trimmer only and cannot be converted to accept any attachments other than a blade. This ECHO PAS Attachments are compatible with the PAS models only.

17 in. Rapid Loader Attachment is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money I started out with the curved shaft trimmer attachment and was very disappointed... The rapid Loader head would not hold any size or type of cord... I decided to up grade to the straight shaft attachment and it even came with a speed feed head on it. It is made more "commercial" and seems to be built to last compared to the curved shaft.. with the speed feed head you can load 12 ft. of cord in approx. 30 seconds.. dont waste your money on the curved shaft... spend the extra and get this attachment. It is well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definite Homeowner Recommended Picked this attachment up for a PAS-265 that I recently purchased with the edger to start edging our yard. I was trying to decide between the old style wind up the line trimmer vs the rapid loader and after one trim of the front & back yards I can safely say I am happy with this purchase. I only had to change line about 4 times and that was more because the first couple times I didn't pull the line from the outside once in the rapid loader to be sure it was tightly caught (I recommend doing this if you use larger line as the first couple times I didn't, one line flew out immediately from the head). For me, this is 10x better than our old Homelite trimmer as I hated having to take the head off and wind up more line. Also, I am using .155 line (bought a package of it and cut it to the 8" lengths with a wire cutters) which is about as thick as you can get at the local HD or use with this head. It works great because it is so thick, but you do have to be careful around fences or anything you don't want to cut down as the thicker line/powerful engine will "pull" your trimmer right into something if you aren't careful (I did take out a couple lawn divots this first time around). Also, the line can get a little jammed in the head with all the grass flying around in there so it wasn't always easy to pull the line through to change one, but I was able to work it back and forth a couple times to free it and haven't had to actually get a tool to get it out so far. Not having the line break is a plus for me with the bigger size. I can understand if a professional doing multiple lawns a day may want the larger amount of line/fewer changes with the wind up style head, but for a homeowner this rapid loader is definitely the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied with this Attachment This was my first attachment for the PAS-230. It works very well with the .095" string trimmer line. I have a flagstone patio that tends to cut the line at high speeds and found that if I run the trimmer at a lower speed, I can get more life out of the line. You have to cut the line into lengths to use with this head. I have a 22K sf lawn and can get the entire lawn trimmed with about 4 pairs of cut lines. Changing out the line is quick and easy and in 3 months of use, I have yet to have to resort to mechanical means to remove the line from the head. Perhaps 1 in 8 line changes, the line will be tightly wedged and I have to work at it a bit to remove the spent line from the head. However, buy pushing from the outside of the head and pulling from the inside, I've never been unable to remove the line. Typically, it takes 20 seconds to replace the two cut lines. At around $65, this is one of the cheapest attachments for the PAS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Item This is exactly what I expected as I had read the other reviews and I had a similar head on another weed trimmer. Love the attachment as the head stops spinning while the motor is idling as my other machine did not and always had to turn machine off to change out the cords. Two things that could be improved on this item. 1) The shaft of the trimmer near the head gets pretty hot during my 15 - 20 minutes of use 2) The grass guard needs to be about twice the size to really provide any protection Besides those two things love the addition to my echo pas attachments

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to my PAS system. Product is exactly what I was hoping for. Occasionally have to use needle nose if line breaks at head, but far easier than auto-feed systems I've used in the past. The more I use the PAS system, the happier I am with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of use Excellent value-trims well with the 0.90mm line. The line is easy to change and wears well. The PAS system allows for ease of tool change out. Outstanding tool!
