I have a bench mounted sharpener that does a good job on the chains for my Stihl saw. Angle makes a difference and I can adjust the angle from 10 degrees to 30 degress.

Answer:
Hi OldFisherman from Shelby County.
The correct angle for sharpening your chainsaw should be in your owner’s manual. Most Stihl chains use a 30° angle. Check your owner's manual your specific model.

18 in. Chainsaw Chain is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average/over priced It actually works great just like every other saw chain for about the first 5 cuts then hits a hard nose dive., over priced but they all are but you can self sharpen. Tough yes... but its a chainsaw chain I would expect it to be tough

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, but I need something better. This chain was dull within an hour of use. I know I was trying to cut a lot, but I figured it would last longer than the off brand that Home depot sells alongside these chains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LikeButta I borrowed a friends chainsaw and the chain on it was so dull that it would smoke when trying to cut, so it was more of a friction saw than a chain saw. I replaced the chain and now it cuts through huge branches...LIKE BUTTA! Recommend not going cheap on chains and getting OEM parts since it's going to save me so much time on the rest of the tree felling job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from High cost, poor value Used this chain to cut down one tree and then trimmed a few stumps. It dulled so bad that I ended up trashing it. Do not purchase this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible junk I oiled and cared for new chain like it was gold. After cutting half way through a 9 inch diameter standing dead pinion tree, I lost three teeth from the chain. I have never in my life witnessed such poorly constructed garbage. Buyer beware, if you like to look at a chain then buy this but if you need to cut wood buy a pencil sharpener as you will move faster!
