If you get the bag totally full you will have to stick your hand in the bag to help get the leaves out. the bag is not that wide and the leaves get packed in the bag.

Will the ES-250 shred leaves and twigs?

Asked by: Anonymous
It's a leaf vacuum. Twigs need to be raked and dumped into a bag separately.

will the vac work without shreding? picking up nuts?

Asked by: Anonymous
The vacuum chute goes straight to a shredder. There is no way to vacuum without shredding.

This has been a good vacuum -- HOWEVER -- the vacuum tube is very poorly designed (how it attaches to the main body). The screw threads are made out of plastic -- wore out very quickly (I was very careful screwing the tube on). Do yourself a favor -- buy yourself an extra vacuum tube because the threads are going to wear out. Not if but when.

Easy setup, easy start up, ran this machine from 11Am until 6PM, no issues whatsoever. Blew all the leaves to the end of the yard. Switched over to the mulcher and bagged them all up. Does an outstanding job. I would definitely buy this if you have a lot of trees like I do. The vacuum alone is worth every penny. Unzip the bag and dump.

I purchased for the vacuum feature. When I did a pile of leaves in the shade there must have been damp leaves so it clogged. I unclogged and called it a day. The second time I used it I used a blower and put all the leaves in a pile then used the echo to vacuum up and it wouldn't keep the power on; kept ceasing up on me. After 2 attempts I returned the product and picked up the pile of leaves by hand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK tool My first one lasted through 2 fall cleanups. Service shop could not get it running again after three tries. Major complaint is the bag strap which is poorly placed and digs into your shoulder. You have to wear a heavy coat to counter this. Somewhat tedious and clumsy to empty. Requires tools to change nozzles. WHY? Does not often jam, handles pinecones and small sticks. Bagging elbows wear out or split. Bags last about 2-3 seasons. I had to replace the impeller. It is plastic and wore down to a nub. Bought a second one, same issues. You have to treat these as pretty much disposable after 2-3 fall cleanups. I just don't know if there really is anything better. I have read Stihl reviews with similar complaints. This is not a super powered blower for large leaf piles, but the vac does work pretty well. I assume the designers of the thing never actually used them for more than five minutes.

I am a woman and it does get a little heavy to hold after awile. So Women keep that in mind. It is very bulky and long. Reminder it does not particularly like wet leaves and will clog up and you will need to take the plastic elbo off to unclog the vacuum part. I do not think that there is any quick fix on leaves but this will help

Has enough suction power to pick up large DRY leaves and shreds them as they get deposited into the side bag. Considering its power, the unit is not heavy and can be tolerated for at least 30 minutes at a time which means it can pick up quite a bit before you have to empty the bag.
