Does this product require gas and oil mixture if so at what rate
Asked by: Hook
MIXED GAS ONLY!! It's recommended you use a 50:1 oil mixture ratio. Make sure you use a quality fuel and oil. I as a professional only use 93 octane fuel. 87 octane (regular) has a lot of ethanol that these motors are not able to run at it's full potential.

Does this accept TrimmerPlus attachments?

Asked by: Al
The TrimmerPlus and other brand attachments can be modified to work with the ECHO system. There are videos on YouTube showing how to do it. I have a Ryobi tiller head and other attachments that I modified and they work just fine on my ECHO power head.

What is the difference in handling between the straight and curved edger attachment?

Asked by: richjos
The straight shaft provides more torque to the blade, thus allowing it to cut a lot better and not bog down. If you are serious about caring for your lawn, invest in the straight shaft edger attachment. You'll be happy you did.

Which way do you wind replacement line when replace it?

Asked by: Jw
There is an alignment arrow on top of the trimmer head, you align the arrow with the holes where the string comes out of. Once you do that, simply cut your string to desired length, push the string through the holes so the line is coming out of both ends, make sure the string is the SAME length. If you're looking at the trimmer head face to face, turn it counter clockwise.

2 Cycle 21.2 cc Gas PAS Power Source is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and EZ Excellent addition to any tool shed. EZ to start and use. Just use it when your neighbors aren't home or they'll have you trimming their trees too! I bought the pruner and the extension and will be buying the hedger soon. Plenty of power for homeowners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Echo pas 225 power sourse I own two echo pas models Pas 225 and pas 266 both are excellent models if properly maintained. Not much care needs to be given this isn't a Ferrari. If you keep fresh 50:1 mix or premixed and properly store it will last many many years. I have echo trimmers with over 20 years and way over 300 hours each. I'm not a professional landscaper just an average homeowner but I did help my brother while he did landscaping and he used the best at the time. Many laws have changed and regulations as far as noise fuel mix 10% ethanol. Both power units are extremely powerful and very versatile I have all but the hedge clipper and bed attachments. You may not be able to use the Pas 225 for every task. This is not really a landscaper model either because it simply cannot keep up but for the homeowner this is best buy. I was fortunate to demo a Pas 230 before buying my 225 I did not see enough difference to buy the 230. I purchased the 266 before and there's a huge difference when using my brush cutter or chainsaw attachment. I needed a lightweight trimmer for everyday trimming and I had the opportunity to get one cheap. Pas systems are great for homeowners because you only need to maintain one piece of equipment. Most complaints are really customer related problems with improper storage poor fuel. Today's fuel uses a 10 minimum ethanol which has a short shelf life so I recommend mixing half gallon at a time or premix fuel that has a 2-4 year advertised shelf life which is really about 6 month full power 12 months 85% -90% power. Never run these dry and store once the diaphragms dry's and hardens you will need a new carb rebuilds never really take. One big con is echo technical support or what I call lack of support. Echo is the number one brand used by professionals followed by Stihl, Shindaiwa Husqvarna and then Red Max which is probably the best most expensive hard to find and extremely noisy. Keep you equipment clean fresh line and fuel and you have a machine for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The PAS unit starts easily and runs smoothly. I bought it with the hedge trimmer attachment as I ... The PAS unit starts easily and runs smoothly. I bought it with the hedge trimmer attachment as I haven't trimmed my hedges in years. As you can imagine the hedges were quite tall and I had to hold the trimmer at or above shoulder height for much of the work. It worked well but is a workout for sure. It worked flawlessly but wouldn't trim some of the larger branches since I left it so long, but trimmed the smaller stuff and used lopping shears for the big stuff. In an hour and half, I knocked down enough stuff to take me a full day to pick it all up so I would say it did the job nicely. I do have to mention that UPS due to the hurricane delayed shipping but also sent my trimmer to California ( I live in Florida) It took over three weeks to finally get it. Home-depot to their credit tracked the trimmer down and did rebate me about 10% for my trouble, for that I want to say thank you for your customer service...it was anyone could ask.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from crappiest edger engineered by mankind this edger is horrible. whenever I put new line in it always sucks it back up into the head. every time that happens I spend 30 minutes to an hour getting the line to stay outside the head. it is a complete waste of money. might as well just do the edges with a banana. BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND!!!!!!!!!!!!

From easy start to thoughtful location of grips, etc. If you do much yard work (I have 6 acres), this is the tool for you. I now own 2.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for commercial use This is a good piece of equipment, i have a slightly older model, which doesn't seem to perform as well. Might need some tuning, however these new ones are great! They run like a champ. Only problem is that they just aren't that powerful for extreme trimming (overgrown grass), more for the manicured lawn. Of course that is why they have a bigger engine model. Overall good buy, but i think the price should be slightly lower. I'd say $150 would be better in my mind. Overall good buy.
