Answer:
New jet? If not your jet is probably stuck, and I believe they call that enameling. I have a 3 year old Troy Bilt that I'd love to get running well again, but being a commodity item, and replacements being $160-$200 for pretty good trimmers, I just replaced it..A local small engine shop wanted $70 to get it running right, and there's no guarantee they could have done so.

Answer:
The carb has a sealed adjustment screw. Its behind a black plastic plug on the back side of the carb. Remove that by drilling a 1/16th hole into the plastic plug, threading in a small screw, and pulling the plastic plug out. Under that you will see the adjustment screw. It would most likely need a half a turn counter clockwise.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 886 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolute satisfaction!! I am 80 years old and still take care of my 10 acres. This is the FIRST weed-eater I have ever had that was easy to start, easy to reload string and light enough to weed-eat around all of my Crepe Myrtles. I have about 100 . Love the weedeater. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OK, but have a pocket full of strig pre cut. I like using the precut string, but they break so quickly that you are constantly going to your pocket for new ones. I use .95 string and it does way better than .80. Starts easy, and has plenty of power for up to almost 1/2 thick weeds if you work at them. This one was a big step down for me in motor size, the curved shaft, and giving up string feed (but that is another nightmare). We have an acre and I grow grass on about 1/3rd, the back 2/3's needs a lot of attention, and I'm hoping this unit is up to the task from a longevity position. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth every penny Bought this over the weekend after doing some research, wow what a great product, set up is easy and your'e up n running in minutes. Was skeptical atter purchase as I walked out of the store a man was returning the exact same model. It went thru thick weeds with no problems, as many have stated the rapid reloader is a pain, yet I had no problems, stopping to reload lets you crack open a cold one after sweating your bag off. If you'e on the fence about buying this bad boy, just do it!! You wont be disapointed!! August 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice I have a lot of trimming to do matter of fact it takes me about 6 hrs to complete the job, Anyway i had a echo that i used for many years but i finally just wore it out so i picked up the echo GT225 last weekend,,all i did was mix up my fuel fill her up and after priming it i gave her 3 pulls and she fired right up and she ran like a top for the next 6 hrs,,,plenty of power and if i had to i would buy one again,,,It's a Great littleTrimmer!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Forget it. This is one of the worse products I have purchased. There are no pre-wrapped spools of line. Its tough to get it apart and to re-wrap your loose line! I had a Homelite for years and I'm going back. This product is really disappointing. September 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This thing is garbage I purchased one to do some simple cleanup around my backyard and this product was a COMPLETE disappointment. Seems like the engine has too much torque to keep the line blades on the trimmer. I found myself constantly having to Put the pre cut sections of line back in the head. This thing is a total waste of money. August 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Replace 2-line Rapid Loader trimmer head with Speed-Feed Universal 400 trimmer head My wife and I chose this because it is lightweight and has a curved shaft that provides for a nice, ergonomic fit. I am 5'5" and she is 5'4" and the curved shaft seems to fit shorter folks better. The trimmer handles well and is very powerful. The only complaint I have is the 2-line Rapid Loader trimmer head. I had to replace the trimmer line three times to mow my lawn. This trimmer head is a terrible invention. But rather than return it, I decided to try replacing the trimmer head with the Speed-Feed Universal 400 trimmer head (P/N 99944200907). It cost $30 at Home Depot and uses a thicker trimmer line than what the GT-225 comes with. It works fine and my only complaint about that is that the instructions are not very clear. Had the Speed-Feed Universal 400 trimmer head been standard, I would have given this product five stars. August 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Echo 2 CYCLE 21.2 cc Curved Shaft Gas Trimmer This is my third Echo trimmer of this model - I have one and I bought one for each of my kids who own homes. For two of them I did choose to replace the heads with bump feed heads (about $30 each) but even still, considering the light weight, ease of starting, reliability (have had two for 4 years each and no problems), and power, they are a good value for just under $200 ($170 plus the bump feed head I replaced for $30). I looked at 8 different brands of gas models and battery and corded trimmers before deciding to buy another Echo GT 225. August 9, 2016
