Gas/Oil Mix on all Echo engines

I have a 14" Echo chainsaw that I have had and continue to love, for many years. It has ALWAYS started when I need it. I have gone thru three "other" brand weed trimmers in that time.

QUESTION: Is the gas/oil mix the SAME between Echo trimmers and chainsaws?

Answer:
A 50:1 ratio with 89 Octane fuel can be used in all ECHO 2-stroke equipment, provided the oil is ISO-L-EGD and JASO M345 FD certified. ISO-L-EGD and JASO M345 FD oil must be used with a mid-grade (89 octane) or premium gasoline in all 1997 and newer engines. A 50:1 Ratio = 1 US Gal. 89 Octane + 2.6 fl. oz. ECHO Power Blend Oil.

Answer:
I believe that they all would be since they are all from the same manufacturer. It would be easy to make sure by checking the item out on line or when you are at the store just check the info on the box or ask an employee in that dept.

Answer:
50-1mix use either one of those small oil containers in lawn and garden add that to 1 gallon fresh gas or you could buy the echo pre-mixed container of fuel and oil. Nice trimmer very fuel efficient. If your local gas has a lot of ethanol buy the echo gas/oil can won't gum up the carb. Good Luck

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Trimmer head defect Took about three hours to finally figure out why when the trimmer head was tapped to the ground the line would "re-tract " rather than release more line. The head was assembled from the manufacturer backwards. The "quick" line install would only turn CCW but not CW as the manual instructs. I removed the head, took out brass nut and turned plastic gear upside down and now it works. Line will now quick install and will now release more line when tapped to ground. Frustrated that had to waste 3 hours but at least it now works. I suspect mine is not the only one with head assembly defect. Hope this helps someone with similar issue. October 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Husky trimmer The unit started right up after the first few pulls. It's powerful enough to trim and edge for the average home "yard man". However, the unit did not come with a strap for for looping around your shoulders. It's not a heavy unit, for if you have a large area to trim and edge, it will become heavy after a while. All in all, it's a great unit. With my experience with "Husky" products, you can't go wrong. They consistantly build quality products at an affordable price. October 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This trimmer starts very easily and is quite powerful for its size. The ON/OFF switch located on the shaft is well designed to prevent accidentally turning the trimmer off. Vibration is minimized and not a problem because the handle has just the right amount of dampening built into it. A good machine for the money. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As Advertised This Echo trimmer works as advertised. It starts very easily, and does a great job mowing away the weeds and tall grass in hard to get places. I am very happy with the results October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FANTASTIC WEED AND BRUSH CUTTER I purchased the optional blade kit with shoulder harness. I could not believe how this Echo SRM-225 cut through the thick brush and ferns, I installed the blade kit before i ever used the unit, so the grass string trimmer pieces are brand new. This is the best investment i could have made. Starts right up, Idles very smooth, Balances perfectly on the shoulder harness. The instructions even showed me how to sharpen the blade myself with a flat file. SUPER MACHINE!!! And a 5 year warranty, I am very happy with my ECHO October 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Trimmer Great product!starting it up is easy and it does a great job trimming! October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great trimmer but manual is lacking Although I've only used this trimmer for about an hour I have little to complain about. Due to some reports of hard starting and winter storage coming on I'm using the pre-mixed fuel sold in Home Depot. The trimmer started and ran with no problems when I followed the manual's instructions. Unfortunately, the manual is very repetitive when it comes to safety topics and is lacking in other places. Two come to mind: (1) If you need to remove the spool from the Speed Feed head it must be reinstalled one way. One side of the spool has an "L" stamped on it and the other side has "R". The "L" must face away from the trimmer. (2) There are two screws that hold the engine cover in place. The screw with the coarse threads and rounded top is close to the starter rope. The screw with the fine threads and flat top goes in the hole close to the muffler. As others have mentioned, a shoulder strap would help reduce arm fatigue. I'll look into purchasing one. I've also discovered when edging that the engine doesn't run in all positions (probably not getting fuel) so i have some learning to do in that regard. October 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Echo trimmer Great trimmer for home use replaced my old one that lasted 20 years.lots of power October 25, 2016
