Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Robert After 3 months, so far so good...
Every time I go to start this thing I cuss it. Then I remember to flip the "on/off" switch to "On". Then it starts on like the second pull. This thing is very easy to start.
It is pretty darn easy to load string (although the string that comes with it isn't the best). The string feeds fairly well with a little "bump" on the ground, but it isn't as easy as some others I have used. This may not be a bad thing.
Overall, after a few months use. I 'm very happy with this purchase. If it lasts like this company's products tend to, I will be very happy!

The only reason I wouldn't give this trimmer five stars is because it does not come with a sling. It is a little long and heavy to work without a sling. Other than that, it is a great trimmer.

I purchased this weed trimmer after owning a Stihl Fs-94 that I was not pleased with. This Echo trimmer literally starts on the first pull (after 1 choke pull), it is well balanced, and has comfortable grips as well.. I bought this because with Echo changing the string is a snap

I've had many string trimmers over the years, but this Echo has been the best by far. This trimmer is light, powerful, quieter than average and reliable. I'm glad I didn't opt for the larger engine, as the 21.2cc has plenty of power and easily tore through two foot tall grasses and weeds. I cut the meadow across the stream and the neighbor's hillside too, on less than a tank of gas; and unlike my previous trimmer, I do not feel the need to wear hearing protection. I previously purchased a Echo blower/vac, and am very please with it as well. Echo does cost a little more than the average, but it once again proves that you get what you pay for.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TNhills Great Product so far. Your mileage may vary.
After researching quality, durable trimmers, I decided on this model.Note the "i" at the end. It has been very useful and very functional and works as reviewed. I also bought the steel blade attachment kit which is awesome. I only wish that switching back and forth between string trimmer and blade was not as involved as it is, but given the difference in guard types, etc, this is acceptable. Durability is still undetermined, but the device seems pretty solidly built. The shoulder harness (part of the blade kit) is highly recommended.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by docliv warranty no good
Was less than a year old and had to have a new carb....just quit running suddenly....
Echo will not warranty any fuel issues....even if you use their fuel.....5 year warranty is a joke.
I have 2 other two cycle pieces of equipment using the same fuel and they are running fine.
Plus Dealer has had it for over 3 weeks putting a carb on......
Back to walmart to buy the throw aways.....at least they run for 3 years.....then toss em and buy another.....cheaper in the long run...
Echo has lost a customer.....and by the way.....you can't post a negative review on their website...they won't let you.....so all of those positive testimontals are filtered.....

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Frh Solid, reliable trimmer
Bought this a month ago and already put over 40 hours on this machine. Easy starting, reliable, trimmer cord is easy to replace and cuts through heavy weeds with ease. The only drawback is I bought without harness and fatigue on the wrists and hands after an hour on the trimmer is very evident. Highly recommend, however only drawback is the weight on the hands and wrists over a period of time.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Matt Trimmer head defect
Took about three hours to finally figure out why when the trimmer head was tapped to the ground the line would "re-tract " rather than release more line. The head was assembled from the manufacturer backwards. The "quick" line install would only turn CCW but not CW as the manual instructs. I removed the head, took out brass nut and turned plastic gear upside down and now it works. Line will now quick install and will now release more line when tapped to ground. Frustrated that had to waste 3 hours but at least it now works. I suspect mine is not the only one with head assembly defect. Hope this helps someone with similar issue.
