What is the tube thing by the handle bar on the "blade" side of the saw? Is that the fuel vent? This is a CS-450

Asked by: Anonymous
Based on the parts manual, page 18, it is the oiler: http://www.echo-usa.com/getattachment/ec5b9ffb-d13c-4c90-94fe-dbd642d7e1ae/CS450es_C05812_020413.pdf

20 in. 45cc Gas Chainsaw is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performer! I went back and forth with saw brands and am pleased to report I made the right choice with Echo. I am more than happy with this saw and look forward to using it every time! Easy start, not too loud and runs strong thru the cut. Great weight to power ratio yet small enough to use for hours. I'm very happy with the cs450 and like the auto style air filter and access a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the perfect midsize saw Got a smoking deal on the 450-20" and the 590-20" as a package deal, to finally upgrade from my trusted old 1972 Mac 10-10 auto, and no regrets. The 450 is well balanced, well built, lightweight, and ran & started very well as delivered. But it seemed it was being held back. I ran some of my 32:1 lucas semi synthetic mix, ditched the carb limiters and fine tuned it running hard into tamarack.....Whoa what a saw this is now. There is no stopping it, fast cutting and easy to handle with tons of power after the retuning. I planned on just using it for trimming and limbing my firewood, but I found myself using it for bucking logs all the way up to 20" diameter. It runs right up there with 55cc saws. Love this little monster saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have several saws and bought this one in anticipation... I have several saws and bought this one in anticipation of the storms. I have always been a Stihl owner but the price was to good to pass up. I am VERY impressed by this beast. No problems falling a 30" black oak and had it reduced to limbs and rounds in 1.5 hours with only minor chain tuning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw! Easy starting, powerful, uses the same 50:1 gas oil mix as my Echo backpack blower so one less gas can needed. The saw has side cover chain tensioning. My old saw had a front tensioning screw and I don't miss digging through sawdust and chain oil to get at it. It is heavier than my old saw, but I jumped from a 16" to a 20" so that is to be expected. Very good warranty! I wouldn't hesitate to buy other Echo products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Chainsaw is a BEAST... This is my second season with the saw, as I bought it last year. I have used it extensively since then. I regularly cut 20+ inch oak rounds without any complaints. The saw is a bit heavy, but the makes up for its heft with cutting power. It's very easy to start and operate. The saw is an absolute blast to use! It's on the expensive side, but you definitely get your money's worth. My only criticisms are: 1. Price is a bit high 2. Case or scabbard are not included These complaints are minor IMO, and I would not hesitate to buy this saw again or recommend it to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starts every time This chain saw has all the power for my needs; I take down trees with up to about 16 inch diameter, and my Echo takes care of them just fine. The safety features are useful for the average joe like me. I'm going to spend some time talking about startability, since that's been my main issue with home chain saws over the years. I had a little 16 inch Poulan chain saw for years and I always had an awful time getting it started. Finally I gave up, bought this Echo chain saw and have never looked back. I've had it for four years and I yank once with the choke on, then squeeze the trigger, and it always starts up on the next yank. An important caveat, though. While I was shopping for chain saw, I got some advice that gas station gas with the ethanol additive is bad for two cycle engines, and that it will eventually varnish them, causing them to have starting issues, With the Echo, I always use the Trufuel 50:1 pre-mix gas that has no additives. I strongly suggest that you use this fuel on all your two-cycle engines. I never have starting problems on any of them anymore. It's entirely possible that even my little Poulan would have started well if it had only seen non-ethanol gas. I can't say that for sure, but I *can* say that this Echo, with Trufuel, starts every time, even after months of non-use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best chainsaw under 400 Easy to start, cuts live oak like it is butter, fun to use...only problem I have is the oil, it drips chain oil when stored upright. I tried storing it on its side, still drips, tried the other side..there is always a little oil under the chain brake, so now I am looking for a case
