Customer Questions & Answers

Are dogs available for this saw?

If dogs are available what is the part number? Actually it looks like Echo doesn't include dogs on any of it's saws...?
Asked by: doob
Hey, the dogs that come with it are perfectly fine for what you're gonna do. If you're playing around with a 24" bar, then you might need more significant dogs.... But this baby's good to take home!!

Which would be a machine would you recomend to trim a bush that it is 9' high and 90' long each side, i do prefer gasoline machine.

Asked by: Anonymous
A chain saw may not be the best type of equipment to use for trimming a bush. Hedge clippers may be a better option because they are designed for trimming bushes with branch sizes of 1/2" to 1". Based on the information that you have provided the best hedge clipper would be the HCA-266.

20 in. 45cc Gas Chainsaw is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product, as usual! This cs450p replaced my basically new stihl ms250(also 45cc). the stihl was always leaking bar oil or fuel or sometimes both! Also, on numerous occasions the Stihl failed to start. I found myself using old faithful( my 18 year old cs3400), which as never let me down...... ok, it did once! A few years ago I had to replace the primer bulb due to cracking(age). I also have a pb2400 leaf blower that was purchased at the same time as the cs3400 and I've never had to fix anything on it.....ever........... Same is said for my Echo srm230 trimmer(which is only 5 years old)........This is why I went with Echo again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Performance I recently purchased (Oct 2016) the Echo CS 450P chainsaw. I bought it from a local farm/feed supply store in my home town in Missouri. I have used it several times already and I am astounded by the incredible performance this machine delivers. One or two effortless pulls on the pull cord and it's "off to the races". The 45cc power that this tool provides cuts through some of the toughest hard wood trees with ease. The ability to change out the bar and chain for bigger jobs 16", 18" and 20" was just another added bonus. I made the decision to buy this model because I also purchased the CS 590 Timber Wolf with the 59.8cc engine approximately six months prior and completely fell in love with the Echo brand. I did my homework prior to buying an Echo product and found that it not only totally out-performed its major competition, but also had the best warrant in the industry providing you comply with the warrant guidelines just as any other reputable company would require. I owned a couple of other chainsaws in the past (makes I would rather not divulge as not to discredit them completely). But when you compare honey crisp apples to sour lemons, it doesn't take a genius to figure out how you'll benefit by investing in a very high quality product such as an Echo brand chainsaw. Thanks Echo, keep doing what your doing. Your outstanding reputation speaks volumes concerning you're professional character. PS: I will be writing a separate and very favorable review concerning my awesome CS 590 Timber Wolf as well. Thanks again Echo! Sincerely; Rob Lundberg (A very satisfied Echo customer)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bread little sw bought this saw a couple years ago from home depot to replace a homelite 4550. wanted a better 45cc saw w/ a 20" bar. no such model in the stihl line-up. have used it for felling and limbing trees for firewood--10 cord so far. is nice and light but powerful for the task. very sturdy saw. feels like a pro saw and is well made and bullet proof. highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from runs forever but.... I own a landscaping and tree service company. I run ECHO everything from string trimmers, blowers and saws. now for the good stuff. This saw will run forever for any homeowner and professional. If your planning on felling trees I suggest getting the 550cp for extra 20 bucks. This saw will bog out when tested, I've ran Stihl and Huskee saws and this one is always my first choice. Like I said great saw and extremely comfortable to use but for an extra 20$ you wont regret the extra power when you need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Chainsaw. Cut up a downed pine and pecan tree with this thing. Took me the better part of the entire day, it never even slowed down. Nice sharp chain, cut the pine and pecan like it was butter. Hope it lasts a long time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE ONLY SAW FOR ME, DO I HEAR AN ECHO? LISTEN! I bought this saw last fall to replace the one that I had for around 30 years. The Echo 650. The most dependable chainsaw ever made. I used it year after year on the farm and in the Hunting business that I own and operate for the past 31 years. We use them all the time. We call this one Hoss and I also bought the small one that we call Little Joe. I will never switch. People say there are better saws out there and I say, "how can it get any better than one saw lasting for nearly 30 years." It can't. ECHO, echo, echo. Do I hear an echo. Yep that's my saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great saw for the price. I purchased this saw about 4 months ago. I have since felled 14 standing dead Oak trees (killed in last years drought). The 450 has preformed great. Only complaint would be fuel tank size. Wish it was larger capacity. Overall very happy with it.
