Customer Questions & Answers

Can I have a 24"chain instead of 20"?

Asked by: Anonymous
you can, but to be honest the 20" is the best for saw in 60cc range!

i need to see what chains are available for my saw. Echo CS-600P-20

i HAVE TRYED to narrow this down using the site here. does not list replacement part # and is difficult to tell what will fit what.
Asked by: atvlee
I use Carlton chain, as good as Stihl OEM chain and a much cheaper price...A 20 inch bar usually takes a 27 drive link chain, which can be had for less than $20 by buying at least 5 at a time...So nice to have extra chains that are sharp and ready to go in case we hit a nail or wire in a fence row.

What is the difference between this saw and the CS-590-20

I use wood heat, cut and split my own wood and I want a saw that will stay with me and keep working hard. I have always used Stihl saws but like the looks of the Echo. Which model do you recommend. The CS-590-20 or the CS-600P

20 in. 59.8 cc Gas Chainsaw is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Powerful Was needing a larger saw to cutover a large tree that blew over. Got CS-600P with 24" bar. Started right away and cut through tree very easily. Feels well balanced and power was always there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong cutting saw this saw has power to spare. This saw is stronger than my Stihl 036. Just cut up a 14 inch tree into rounds and it went through the tree like it was butter. Looking forward to using this saw next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The CS600P is a workhorse. I'm glad I took the advice of 2 different salesmen. The 600 has fallen 12 trees and cleaned them up. I heartily recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable and runs right with any saw in its' class I purchased this saw 3 months ago. Myself and everyone in my family has run it alongside our other saws. I also own other saws from Stihl and Husqvarna. The Echo 600P is just as good as any saw out there right now. Just as you expect, the 600P starts EVERY time you need it too and runs all day without any issues. I also own one of the new Husqvarna auto tunes..it has been nothing but problems. None of these issues are ever present when I need the Echo so the new Husky auto tune is being sold. if I had any complaint it would be the weight..but that weight comes from the great build quality this saw has. Our Stihl in this class weighs more..and this saw runs right with it day in and day out doing the same amount of work. If you have not tried one of the new Echos do yourself a favor and resist the urge to just be "Brand" buying. Look at overall build quality, reliability and talk to other owners of these new generation echo chainsaws. Try one out! You won't be sorry. I am glad I did and in fact will be selling other Husky and Stihl saws and replacing them with Echos of that class.....they're just that good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cut up 100' fallen red oak with 30" trunk no problem. Bought this saw to do the job that 46cc ryobi really struggled with. Echo Saw had plenty of power, nice torque with the bar sunk in all the in the trunk and never felt weak. Throttle is very linear with easy modulation. No issues with starting, three pulls on cold start and one on warm. Overall seems Good built quality too. The chain bar is solid steel which ensures no bending. Went through two chains to cut up the three. Substituted with Oregon chain. Only thing can think of is the saw sips good amount of gas. And although the weight of the saw is average in this class, wish it was bit lighter. Overall, very satisfied with the machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best built chainsaws today I have been the proud owner of an echo cs600p for over three years now. It is my main go to saw for firewood cutting and has never let me down. When I first bought the saw most of my friends and family could not understand why I would buy an echo chainsaw being fans of both Stihl and Husky. Now I have proven to them the ruggedness and performance of Echo chainsws many of them have realized that they were just buying a name instead of a quality built product and they were paying $200-$400 to do so. So if your considering saws in this class say a plastic constructed ms311 or an auto tune Husky that this is a rugged built metal frame saw that does not require an unreliable computer to run and will still hang well with the other two and keep going when they break down for a lot less purchase cost.
