Received it for Christmas. I've used it twice and I'm not certain I would buy it for myself. It did an excellent job removing the thatch without destroying the grass. The design has some flaws. I've lost a dozen springs. I found most but had to buy new bolts. The springs attach to a cylinder. If they used concaved washers, perhaps it would be more sturdy.

I found this to be much easier to use than raking and much faster. I was able to finish about 1/10 acre in 45 minutes. It took me about 10 minutes to get used to using it. Coupled with the Echo 266 it worked great and had plenty of power to pull me across the yard. After figuring its best to keep the throttle maxxed out and let it "glide" across the lawn it was much easier. Only 1/10 acre produced 4 packed barrels of thatch. In the past I spent hour raking and braking my back to get up a portion of the thatch, this was worth every bit of what I paid. The only minor complaint is that I found one of the tines laying in the yard because one of the bolts came loose. Might be a good idea to go through and make sure all the bolts are tight. Heck, the instruction may say to do that but I just fired it up and went to work. Overall, get this if you want to save your back and time! Another user put that it was difficult to use?? I have a very bad back and found it tiring but not hard to use one you get the hang of it.

It honestly works better than I thought. Definitely recommend it for de-thatching.

I bought the eco pas system and bought this as my second attachment. It's amazing, see attached pics. It pulled out about 10-12 home depot bags worth of old grass + moss. A normal grass cut generates about 4-5 paper bags worth of clippings, so a lot of material was efficiently picked up without damaging the grass. 1 week after, grass is already looking quite healthy.
