Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good dependable saw. I have owned a couple different saws and cut firewood for money in my younger years, this is by far the best saw that I have ever owned. It's not light but it has plenty of power and starts easy. The manual chain oilier override to supplement the automatic oilier is a nice feature when cutting through a big tree trunk. I also have the CS-330T saw and the PAS 280 power head. I have not had any problems with my Echo equipment. None of my Echo equipment was cheap to buy but it not cheaply made either making it worth the price. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by plenty of power I have had this saw for a few weeks and it has been put through the mill already and preformed flawless so glad I brought this saw September 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No Regrets I did not purchase my saw from Home Depot, I purchased from a local dealer, however this saw has blown all my expectations out of the water. I have owned 3 Stihls in the past and they don't even come close. I have made four test cuts in 20" solid red oak and the saw didn't even skip a beat. Plus it comes stock with a dual port muffler. It pulls a 24" chain without hesitation. The bar and chain are Oregon power match painted with Echo's logo, and the chain is a full chisel. This saw is a true sleeper. March 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by YOWZA!!! For the last 37 years, wood has been the main source of heat for my log home. During this time a 710A McCullough has cut cords of wood too numerous to count. 1 1/2 yrs. ago, I bought my 680 Echo. Figured after 37 years, it was time to give "Grandpa McCullough" a much needed break, even though he was still eating up wood like there is no tomorrow. After using my 680 for the last 1 1/2 yrs., I heard "Grandpa Mac" mumbling from his place on the shelf. Okay, I told him I was going to use him today. I had always taken him with me and 680 when we went out to cut, so "Gramps" had a pretty good idea of what his buddy the 680 could do. Well, it took about 5-6 pulls and Gramps started to make his oh so familiar rumble. It was good to here that sound again. I ran him for about an hour and then shut him down. Long enough for the ole fella! Before he quieted down, I could hear him saying, "I can lug it out just as good as that young "whipper-snapper" you just bought but, there is no question that I, even in my younger years, could not eat through a chunk of wood as 'fast' as that youngster!!!" I totally agreed with "Gramps". Like "Gramps", I'm a Grandpa too! And, at 67 yrs. young, my Echo 680 makes cutting wood about as easy as it can get!!! I think You'll agree if You buy one. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So far good investment I like to break a chainsaw in easy. My first use with this CS-680 was on two standing dead Red Oak trees about a foot across at the base of the trunk. Using "Midgrade gas" with a echo oil mix this saw made light work of it's first job. Both dead trees where down and cut too 18" logs ready for my log splitter in no time. The next two hardwoods I will be cutting will tell me more about what the saw can do. I own a CS-450 It impressed me enough to buy this CS-680. The 680 is a little harder to get started. Once it's running it has the power needed for my type of work. I heat my home with wood. Both of these saws will make this a much easier job to do. December 20, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by really like this saw this saw cuts great for it's weight. I live up in the mountains and depend on fire wood for heat in the winter. the Echo cuts down 18" to 28" trees all day long and rounds them up in no time. Could have a smidge more power, but once the timing adjusts to your cut it powers right through a 24" tree like a champ. pretty good purchase for the buck. October 15, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 cs 680 Echo Chain Saw My Family bought me this chain saw for Christmas. This is the most powerful and lightest saw of this type I have ever used. It easily cuts thru hard rock maple and never loses power. I absolutely love this saw. Thanks for an excellent product!!!! January 3, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Saw This saw is great. Started up right away and every time after. Cut through some real tough wood like a breeze. I would definitely recommend this saw to anyone and I will always buy ECHO after this. April 26, 2011
