The specs for this trimmer say "Commercial - yes," so would the manufacturer's warranty be only 2 years for commerc even though it is for home use?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, if it is for home use you got 5 years, but if you are a professional and use it commercially then the warranty would be for 2 years.

Got to get this "monster" out in the REALLY tall, tough stuff..... elected to just use string trimmer before (probably) loading up the "blade" cutter..... THIS THING CUT THROUGH THE VERY TOUGHEST WEEDS, GRASS, STALKS, ETC. WITH NO PROBLEM!!!!! A MONSTER!!!!! Would recommend it to anybody having to keep up property with yard, woods, pond, etc. - it CAN handle it! "String" is SO easy and quick to load up..... and GO!!!!! If you all had a TEN STAR rating - THIS monster would deserve it! Finished so fast - wife thought I just gave up weed eating and came back to the house....... a MONSTER!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent String Trimmer - Powerful Started up with no problems the first time - followed the starting instructions. The guard is small as others have noted, but it allows you to tilt the head and makes it more versatile. It actually makes a decent edger. Wear PPE and the small guard is no problem. Definitely has the power to cut through thick weeds. It is on the heavy side - I was not expecting it to be light though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality! I have always purchased less expensive trimmers and decided to spend a little more to get something that would last longer than one season. I was impressed by the Echo warranty so I bought the SRM 266. Its only been a month, but I've been very impressed with this trimmer, it starts easily and will cut through anything with ease. I also love the easy and fast loading of the line. It used to take me several minutes to wind it by hand and get frustrated when I let my fingers slip and had to start over. This trimmer is a little heavier, but it's utility is ten times better than anything I've used before. I would highly recommend purchasing this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful After a little over a month and some serious weed eating I am truly pleased with the 266. My old trimmer you would have to hold wide open to cut the same weeds I'm doing now at half throttle. More torque. And you're not penalized with more weight. The 266 weoghts about the same as my old John Deere ( which was gifted to my niece) and is still in use. Love the speed feed trimmer head. It allows you to in stall fresh line in no time. Can fault this trimmer on any thing. Does exactly what I what. Easy starting too. Brand new and started on the third pull.

Had a SRM-230 for over 7 years and averaged about 50 hours per year of use. Did basic annual maintenance - filters, spark plug, and cleaned carbon from exhaust port as recommended. Outstanding equipment. Finally had to get a replacement and got a SRM-266 for added power. Used it less than an hour and one of the three screws in the trim head came loose. Fortunately, I know how to remove the trim head and was able to tighten the screw as well as the other two which were both loose. Not a good start and I would have expected more from Echo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average I bought this a month ago and had to return it because the throttle stuck and it started shutting off. I still Have my old echo trimmer and I loved it..... only bought a new one because the throttle cable needs replaced however I'm not nearly as impressed with the new model. I'm 5'8" tall and it seems like my arm is always getting to close to the hot exhaust..... seems like there should be a way to either cover, deflect, or reroute the exhaust. I also think the handle placed is for taller people.... how about a fast locking quick adjusting handle.... finally I don't feel like starting it is as easy as what you promote.... just my opinion.... it's pretty pricy for what it is especially when comparing it to my older one which I've had for over a decade and ran flawlessly....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong, Efficient, Balanced.... Perfect!!! I have had this trimmer for just about a month now. This trimmer cuts thru just about anything like butter. Doesn't bog down in tall thick grass like my Troybuilt that I bought when we first moved in. Also bought this to put a blade on to cut down saplings and small trees. My guy at Weingartz recommended this Echo trimmer over the Stihl but he said either brand is great. He recommended due to he has had this trimmer for 30 years. If you spend the little extra money for this model you will. It be disappointed.
