I tangled between this echo and a comprable stihl for my lawn company... happy with purchase. Works great and weight is good. I have a smaller echo that has run like a champ for over a year of commercial use. I like the shear pin release mechanism on these models... saves the trimmer if you hit something metal hidden in a bush and can be fixed on site without much down time. Thinking of buying and echo top handle chain saw as well. Echo is manufactured in US (a plus) and price is better than competion (another plus). Echo also gives a long warrany for residential use as well as commercial.

i own/ operate a lawn service and i use echo brand products such as weedeater (string trimmer), hedge trimmers and back pack blower.i use my equipment 6 days a week, 8 months a year. i was using another brand of trimmers, weedeater and blower and was having to repair or replace weedeaters every year b/c of faulty/ cheap parts. i have had 1 of my echo weedeaters for over 3 years and have never done any maint. on it, not even change the spark plug, and it fires up every time, doesn't matter if it sits for a day or months in the winter. the echo hedge trimmers i have had for about 4 years and they are the same way. no miant (other than grease the gears) and fires up and performs every time. i HIGHLY recommend echo products! you get what you pay for, quality and reliability.

This was a little pricey compared to some clippes but you truly get what you pay for on these clippers, I have had less expensive clippers and it showed in the quality.
Really cool rotating handle that will help fight fatigue when trimming.
The folks at Home Depot did great by shipping this direct to my home at no extra cost even though the store is only 4 minutes from my house.

A little heavy, but it cut my trimming time in half. The individual cutting width of the blade allows larger leaves and branches of the scrubs to be trimmed with ease. It was pricey but I'm hoping it will last for a long time !

I am not one to buy cheap tools. I take care of my tools and equipment so longevity is as important as quality.
Having 30 hedges to maintain in my yard is easier now. I cut my total time in half that it takes for a trim, with no lack of power.

I am a home owner so I can't speak to how well this hedge trimmer will hold up for daily, commercial use. What I can say is that I have 4 other Echo lawn and garden tools - string trimmers, pole saw, back-pack blower and a brushcutter. I have had these for many years and they have all held up well - they usually start on one pull even after sitting for the winter and are easy to service when needed.
I bought this hedge trimmer because I was sick and tired of the Stihl I bought 3 years ago. Even after one season, it was difficult to start, the air filter kept falling off and I was stuck going back to the Stihl dealer when I needed anything.
This Echo trimmer is in a different league than the Stihl. It has plenty of power, starts easily, better ergonomics, and has better vibration isolation. And, if and when I need a part for it, I can go on-line and order it and not be held for ransome by the Stihl dealer.
Sure it's expensive but it is an excellent, well made product and should last for years with minimal upkeep - like the other Echo products I own.
